He sees bitcoin (BTC) as a modern extension of his advocacy for financial freedom and privacy, stressing the need for individuals to have control over their money without government interference.
Paul said:
I believe in competing currencies and reining in the Fed’s Monopoly.
During the interview, Paul expressed concerns about the current economic situation, describing it as the “biggest bubble ever” due to excessive money printing and government spending. He highlighted the ongoing devaluation of the U.S. dollar and the potential for bitcoin (BTC) to become a unit of account at some point in the future. However, Paul acknowledged that most people still measure value in dollars, which perpetuates the economic bubble.
