The firm separately reported call options representing another 15,100 shares of underlying exposure, valued at about $176,000. Including the call position, Jane Street reported exposure tied to roughly 1.22 million Bitwise $XRP ETF shares worth $14.23 million.
This placed Jane Street among the largest reported institutional holders of the fund in Q2. Goldman Sachs held the largest position with approximately 2.21 million shares worth $25.76 million, while Jane Street ranked second in the latest institutional ownership data.
Bitwise $XRP ETF Holds Spot $XRP
The Bitwise $XRP ETF launched in November 2025 and trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker $XRP. Unlike a futures product, the fund holds spot $XRP to provide investors with exposure to the asset’s price, with lower operating expenses. Its management fee is 0.34%.
Bitwise data shows the fund had grown to approximately $616.4 million in assets under management by Sept. 27, with 36.99 million shares outstanding.
Jane Street’s 1.205 million common shares would have represented roughly 3.3% of the ETF’s current share count, although the comparison uses its June 30 position against the fund’s later September share count.
The filing does not establish that Jane Street still owns the same number of shares today. Form 13F disclosures are quarterly snapshots and do not show transactions made after the reporting date.
It also does not necessarily represent a directional bet on $XRP. Jane Street is a major trading and market-making firm, and 13F filings report certain long positions without providing a full picture of shorts, hedges, or the strategy behind individual holdings.
Still, the filing confirms that by June 30, Jane Street had expanded its Bitwise $XRP ETF common-share position from roughly 20,600 shares to more than 1.2 million shares in a single quarter.
