BTC Faces Another Test at $80K

Bitcoin is back at a level that could decide where the price goes next. $BTC is trading around $76,400, but the bigger issue is what happens if the price gets another shot at the $80,000–$85,000 resistance zone.

A Crypto analyst recently pointed this out on X, saying Bitcoin remains below the $80K–$83K bearish order block. The analyst’s view is that $BTC needs to reclaim this supply zone and confirm a bullish Change of Character (CHoCH) before the higher-timeframe structure can turn more positive.

Bitcoin Still Has a Wall at $80K

Looking at the daily chart, the recent Bitcoin recovery has been impressive, but $BTC still has some work to do. The price came up from the $55,000–$60,000 area and climbed toward $82,000. The problem is that the rally has not cleared the previous lower high. That leaves the $83,000–$86,000 area as the key test on the chart.

There is also a little caution coming from the indicators. Bitcoin is trading below the 9-day EMA at $77,028, while the daily RSI is at 51.68, below its moving average at 57.70. RSI around 50 is neutral, so the indicator does not point to an oversold market. It does, however, show that the strong momentum seen during the August rally has cooled. For $BTC to really change the current structure, the price needs to get above that resistance area and hold it.

$76K Is the Immediate Battle

We had a look at the $BTC 4-hour chart, and the price action becomes easier to follow. Bitcoin climbed from around $64,000 to $82,000 during the August breakout. After reaching $82K, the price started moving sideways and gradually worked lower inside the $80,000–$84,000 resistance range.

Now $BTC is around $76,400, almost directly around the 4-hour 9-EMA at $76,341. That makes $76K an important short-term level. If buyers defend it, $BTC could make another attempt at $80K–$84K. If the level gives way, the chart points toward $72,000, followed by the $69,000–$66,000 bullish order block.

The 4-hour RSI is also close to the middle at 48.69, with its moving average at 40.19. In simple terms, the market does not have a strong momentum signal in either direction right now.

Bitcoin’s On-Chain Activity Has Gone Quiet

The on-chain numbers give us another piece of the puzzle. Across the roughly eight-day period shown in the charts, $BTC moved from around $78,000 down to $75,500, before recovering toward $76,000.

Active addresses ranged from approximately 535,000 to 685,000. Interestingly, active addresses climbed toward 685,000 during an earlier price decline. Later, when $BTC reached its lowest point around $75,500, active addresses fell toward 535,000.

Transactions followed a similar pattern. The metric reached roughly 815,000 before dropping toward 625,000 around the $75,500 low. The final readings moved back toward 620,000 active addresses and 655,000 transactions.

So, the $75,500 area came with a noticeable drop in network activity. That does not automatically mean Bitcoin has found a bottom, but it gives traders another number to watch. If both active addresses and transactions start climbing alongside the price, it would provide stronger evidence of renewed network activity.

What $BTC Needs to Break

For Bitcoin, the numbers are pretty clear. The $76K–$77K area is the immediate support zone, while $80K–$85K remains the major resistance area highlighted by the post above, a move above $85K–$86K would clear the lower-high structure shown on the daily chart and provide the bullish CHoCH mentioned in the X post. If $BTC fails to break that resistance, the chart gives $72K, $69K–$66K, and eventually $57K as the major downside levels.

For now, Bitcoin is stuck between support below and a heavy supply zone above. The next confirmed break should give the market a much clearer idea of where the price heads next.
