Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has announced it will support the planned network upgrade and hard fork process on the Polygon ($POL) network.
According to a statement from the exchange, token deposits and withdrawals on the Polygon network will be temporarily suspended to ensure user transaction security and contribute to the smooth completion of the upgrade process.
According to Binance’s announcement, all deposit and withdrawal transactions on the Polygon ($POL) network will be suspended as of July 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The network upgrade and hard fork will take place at block number 50,185,000, approximately at 5:00 PM on July 29, 2026.
The exchange emphasized that the maintenance process only covers network operations and that trading of tokens on the Polygon network will continue uninterrupted.
Users will be able to continue trading $POL and related tokens on Binance Spot and other trading platforms during the upgrade. Therefore, the only service that will be suspended is deposit and withdrawal transactions conducted through the Polygon network.
Binance also stated that all technical processes related to the network upgrade will be managed by the exchange on behalf of users. Users will not need to perform any technical actions as part of the upgrade, and deposit and withdrawal operations will be reopened once the system is confirmed to be fully stable with the new version. The statement also noted that no further announcements will be issued regarding this process.
Polygon stands out as one of the most important scaling solutions in the Ethereum ecosystem, and regular updates to the network aim to improve performance, strengthen security, and enhance the developer experience. Hard fork processes enable the implementation of significant changes at the protocol level.
