Uniswap’s latest volume shows its lead is becoming harder for rival DEXs to challenge. In terms of total volume, Uniswap [$UNI] has now surpassed $71.1 billion in volume over 30 days, solidifying its status as the most popular choice for decentralized spot trading.
Even more impressive is Uniswap’s ability to maintain consistent volumes over shorter time frames. Over the last seven days, the platform processed over $21.3 billion in trades. In just one day, the protocol saw an influx of nearly $2.0 billion.
The persistence of high trade volumes indicates that users are choosing to utilize Uniswap as their primary option for liquidity, rather than seeking temporary alternatives.
Meanwhile, PancakeSwap [CAKE] trailed $UNI closely, reaching $29.8 billion over 30 days. Despite that, there is a notable gap between the two leaders. Uniswap’s multichain access supports that advantage, while Ethereum [ETH] and Robinhood Chain provide major sources of activity.
Therefore, the widening volume gap points to stronger liquidity and user preference, reinforcing Uniswap’s position across decentralized markets.
Uniswap turns volume into value capture
Uniswap’s trading volume dominance is now translating into direct protocol revenue. For instance, the protocol generated $28.2 million in revenue from $297.9 million in trading fees from January through July, according to Token Terminal data.

Monthly revenue climbed from $2.8 million in January to $5.3 million in June before easing to $4.1 million in July. The June peak shows how stronger activity can lift revenue when fee collection expands.
By early August, cumulative revenue since fee activation had reached $29.8 million. More importantly, UNIfication changed what happens to those earnings.
Protocol fees now accumulate in TokenJar, while users burn $UNI through Firepit to claim them. The two create a link between the user’s participation on Uniswap and the decrease in $UNI supply, giving trading activity a clearer role in token value capture.

This permanently removes tokens from circulation and adds a supply-side effect to protocol growth. The 100 million $UNI treasury burn also reduced supply, while several million more tokens have since been retired.
However, the ongoing burn rate remains modest against roughly 623 million circulating $UNI and a $3.85 billion market cap. Therefore, Uniswap now captures value from its strong trading activity, but the effect remains limited.
Ultimately, sustained levels of volume and increased rates of burning will be the determinants as to whether or not this model can create meaningful demand for $UNI.
Final Summary
- Uniswap processed $71.1 billion in 30-day volume, cementing its lead as the dominant DEX.
- $UNI’s value capture is growing, but sustained burns and stronger demand must scale before they materially support the token.
