Trump-themed memecoins have sharply declined following new poll results for the 2024 U.S. presidential race. The polls show Democratic nominee Kamala Harris leading Republican nominee Donald Trump by 10%, with her chances at 54% and his falling from 72% to 44%.
Formerly, Trump had 64 percent of the vote against Harris’ 29 percent. On July 31, another poll gave the Republican nominee a smaller majority of 56% of the vote against the Vice President’s 45 percent.
Vice President Kamala Harris has received support in several recent polls. Harris has not yet taken a decisive stance on crypto policy. Whereas, her campaign has engaged with crypto representatives and found upcoming pressure from pro-crypto Democrats to adopt a more favourable approach.
On the other hand, Trump remains unchanged in his pro-crypto stance. Trump further advised the American government not to sell Bitcoin. Trump called Bitcoin a modern currency and stated that the government should build it.
The ongoing U.S. presidential election race and Donald Trump’s pro-crypto stance have increased the volatility of PolitiFi (Political Finance) memecoins in the crypto market. Moreover, the Trump-based meme coins have gained support from crypto investors. Notably, after the Polymarket poll results, major Trump coins have fallen.
The Dips of Trump-based Memecoins
Several Trump-themed memecoins, like MAGA, TRUMP, TrumpCoin, and Donald Trump, have witnessed considerable losses. At the time of writing, MAGA has declined by 3.60%, trading at $2.84. The TRUMP token is down by 10.50%, at $0.00001172. The TrumpCoin and Donald Trump have fallen by 26.29% and 5.64%, trading at $0.0001917 and $0.002081, respectively.
Conversely, certain Trump-based memecoins like MOG TRUMP, PEPE TRUMP, and Trump Hat have noted remarkable surge. MOG TRUMP is up by 51.32%, trading at $1.40. PEPE TRUMP has soared significantly by 148.32% to $0.0000169. And Trump Hat is trading at $0.0001934, with a surge of 11.07%, as per data.
