RedotPay Rolls Out $XRP Card That Turns Holdings Into Global Spending Power
RedotPay is expanding the real-world utility of the $XRP Ledger (XRPL) with the launch of a payment card that combines $XRP-backed credit, Ripple’s $RLUSD stablecoin, and Visa’s global payment network.
As highlighted by crypto blockchain researcher BankXRP, the initiative allows users to spend without selling their $XRP, further bridging digital assets with everyday commerce.
More notably, RedotPay is a fintech company that serves more than 8 million users across 100+ countries and processes roughly $12 billion in annualized payment volume.
With the new card, users can pledge $XRP as collateral at a 50% loan-to-value (LTV) ratio to unlock a credit line. The loan is settled in $RLUSD on the XRPL before funds are spent anywhere Visa is accepted, enabling users to retain exposure to $XRP while accessing everyday purchasing power.
On the other hand, $RLUSD serves as the settlement layer, leveraging XRPL’s speed and low transaction costs to connect blockchain finance with traditional payment infrastructure.
For long-term $XRP holders, the model offers a practical alternative to liquidating their holdings while still benefiting from potential future price appreciation.
RedotPay’s $XRP Card Signals the Next Evolution of Stablecoin Payments
The launch comes as stablecoin adoption accelerates. RedotPay reports that stablecoin-powered card transaction volume has surged 80% year-to-date in 2026 and 250% compared with the same period last year, reflecting growing demand for blockchain-powered payment solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing card networks.
The new product was discussed by Odelia Torteman, Head of Digital Assets at XRPL Commons, and Taylor Bossung, Head of Corporate Affairs at RedotPay.
They pointed out how the $XRP Card enables users to unlock spending power through $XRP-backed collateral while keeping their crypto positions intact.
Their conversation also explored broader trends shaping digital finance, including the rapid growth of stablecoins, blockchain-powered remittances, on-chain lending secured by tokenized assets, and the rise of agentic commerce, where AI-powered agents can autonomously initiate and settle payments.
The launch builds on RedotPay’s expanding presence within the $XRP ecosystem. In May, the company broadened $XRP payment capabilities for millions of users, while Ripple previously partnered with RedotPay to strengthen $XRP-powered remittances across Africa through faster and more efficient crypto-to-fiat transfers.
