TRON has become one of the world’s largest stablecoin networks, yet users sending $USDT still needed to keep a separate balance of $TRX simply to pay transaction fees. MoonPay is removing that extra step.
The payments company has integrated its Trade infrastructure with the TRON network, allowing users to complete transactions without holding $TRX for gas. Instead, network fees are automatically incorporated into the transaction, letting users pay with the assets they already own.
The change arrives as TRON cements its position as one of crypto’s busiest payment networks. According to the company, the blockchain now processes more than $22 billion in average daily stablecoin transfer volume, making it one of the largest settlement layers for digital dollars.
Removing One of Crypto’s Biggest Friction Points
For years, one of blockchain’s biggest usability problems has been gas. A user might hold $USDT, but still need ETH, SOL or $TRX simply to move it.
That extra requirement has become one of the most common obstacles for newcomers entering crypto and one of the biggest support issues for wallets and exchanges. MoonPay’s integration removes that dependency on TRON.
Instead of requiring users to purchase and maintain $TRX balances, gas fees are abstracted into the transaction itself, allowing transfers and swaps to happen using only the assets already held in the wallet.
Trust Wallet becomes the first wallet to support the feature through MoonPay’s infrastructure.
TRON’s Growing Role in Stablecoins
The launch reflects TRON’s growing importance in global stablecoin payments. The network currently hosts more than $90 billion worth of circulating $USDT, according to TRON DAO, and has grown into one of the world’s largest settlement networks for dollar-backed digital assets.

Those figures increasingly position the blockchain as payment infrastructure rather than simply another smart contract network.
Making Stablecoins Feel More Like Payments
Justin Sun, Founder of TRON, said the integration removes unnecessary complexity from everyday transactions.

MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said stablecoins are increasingly becoming payment infrastructure, but users shouldn’t need to understand blockchain mechanics simply to send money.
“TRON is one of the world’s most important stablecoin ecosystems, and removing the need to hold $TRX eliminates unnecessary friction for users,” he said.
The Bigger Picture
The announcement reflects a broader trend across crypto wallets and payment infrastructure. Increasingly, the goal isn’t simply making blockchains faster. It’s making them disappear.
Gas abstraction, account abstraction and chain abstraction are all built around the same idea: allowing users to interact with blockchain applications without thinking about wallets, bridges or native gas tokens.
As stablecoins move further into mainstream payments, the networks that remove the most friction may ultimately gain the greatest adoption.
