COZ distributed 498 $NEO across six developer tooling contributions in round 2.9 of Proof of Working 2.0, the grassroots rewards program recognizing open-source ecosystem work outside traditional grant pathways. The round brings cumulative distributions to 5,577 $NEO across nine rounds since the program’s January relaunch.
All six contributors recognized in round 2.9 have received awards in previous rounds, reflecting sustained engagement from the program’s developer community. The awarded projects span governance visibility, vesting usability, wallet integration, deployment workflows, local development environments, and real-time contract event monitoring.
Governance visibility, vesting tools
Fireche received recognition for two projects. Gasetta is an AI-assisted dashboard designed to make technical discussions across Neo project repositories more accessible. It summarizes issues, pull requests, discussions, and releases; highlights consensus and key decisions from long GitHub threads; surfaces founder comments; and separates N3 and N4 activity with cross-repository filtering and Hot, New, and Most Discussed views.
Fireche’s second contribution, NeoVest, received recognition for updates improving token vesting accuracy and usability. Changes include on-chain claim amount retrieval, a richer vesting display with progress bars and timestamps, revoke-status visibility, and a public TestNet deployment for end-to-end validation. Fireche has been previously recognized for both tools in earlier rounds.
Wallet integration, deployment management
Vault Keeper also received awards for two projects. Neo N3 WalletKit is a framework-independent TypeScript toolkit that provides shared APIs for wallet connections and contract calls across WalletConnect, NeoLine, and OneGate. Published as an npm package, it includes React and Angular example projects and handles both read-only interactions and signed transactions.
Pusharoo, Vault Keeper’s second project, is a browser-based platform for managing smart contract deployment artifacts. It supports uploading compiled contract artifacts and manifest files, WalletKit-integrated wallet connectivity, deployment history tracking, and artifact comparison tools for version management.
Local development, event monitoring
Merl was recognized for Nanvil, a local blockchain development environment that launches a single-validator chain with prefunded test accounts. The tool supports optional MainNet and TestNet forking, developer-focused RPC commands for mining blocks and advancing time, a built-in block explorer, and command-line tools for contract interaction and compilation across multiple programming languages.
CLAUS received an award for neo-n3-watch, a zero-configuration CLI utility that streams smart contract events to the terminal in real time. Distributed as an npm package, it allows developers to watch live contract activity with a single command and filter by contract, event name, network, RPC endpoint, and polling interval, without requiring node setup or indexing infrastructure.
Program context
Proof of Working operates as an ongoing program where contributors share completed work via the COZ Discord. Awards are determined by the COZ Council, and submissions must be publicly accessible and licensed under Apache 2.x. COZ staff members are excluded from rewards.
The program has distributed rewards across nine rounds since relaunching. COZ positions the initiative as an on-ramp that can surface emerging contributors for longer-term ecosystem opportunities, including grants, sponsored engagements, and potential membership in the COZ organization.
