Zcash, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency, has recently experienced one of the most remarkable surges in the crypto market. In the last month alone, $ZEC has risen by approximately 200%, surpassing the $1,500 level. This surge is attributed to strong funding inflows into Grayscale’s Zcash ETF, interest from large investors, and expectations surrounding the upcoming NU7 upgrade.
The planned reduction of block times from 75 seconds to 25 seconds with NU7, in particular, has raised expectations regarding Zcash’s technical infrastructure.
Finally, the announcement by Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang that the company holds $ZEC further accelerated the rise, with crypto trader Ansem comparing $ZEC’s jump from approximately $300 to $1,500 to Bitcoin’s rise from $1,000 to $20,000 in 2017.
Bitcoin Analogy for $ZEC!
Cryptocurrency investor Ansem stated in a post that he has trusted $ZEC since its price was around $300, and that the token has now risen to approximately $1,500.
Ansem stated that $ZEC’s current market structure resembles Bitcoin’s position before its rise from $1,000 to $20,000 in 2017, arguing that this similarity suggests Zcash could gain strong momentum in 2026 and 2027.
Bitcoin’s Rigidity Benefited $ZEC!
While $ZEC has managed to attract attention with its rise, a comment also came from Eli Ben-Sasson, co-founder and CEO of StarkWare. Ben-Sasson argued that concerns about Bitcoin becoming increasingly rigid are one of the factors supporting interest in Zcash.
Ben-Sasson noted that this view might not be well-received by some Bitcoin supporters, but he also emphasized that he loves and values Bitcoin.
Matt Huang, co-founder of Paradigm, also stated in a post on X that Zcash is “a privacy asset that complements Bitcoin” and that Paradigm has invested in this token.
