WisdomTree Launches Onchain Platform as Tokenized Funds Surpass $1.2 Billion

The $1.2 Billion Figure Has a Clear Concentration

The headline figure doesn’t tell the whole story. Current data shows tokenized assets at approximately $1.27 billion as of September 25, with WTGXX, the WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund, alone accounting for approximately $1.225 billion, meaning roughly 96% of the ecosystem’s tokenized assets sit in a single fund.

What WTGXX Does Beyond Holding Treasuries

WTGXX is a regulated tokenized money market fund built around U.S. government securities and other eligible short-term assets, and its role has expanded beyond simply giving investors blockchain-based access. In February 2026, WisdomTree launched 24/7 trading and instant settlement for WTGXX, which it described as the first time registered tokenized mutual fund shares had been permitted to trade and settle around the clock within the U.S. regulatory perimeter, enabled by SEC exemptive relief WisdomTree called first of its kind.

The fund has since found unusual applications: in March, WTGXX was included in a payroll pilot with Plume and Toku, letting employees elect part of their compensation in yield-bearing fund shares.

In April, it was referenced in the reserve framework for LotusUSD, a DeFi protocol’s stablecoin, and made available through Stable Sea’s treasury platform, comparable to the reserve mechanics in USDC’s no-hype breakdown.

Tokenized AUM Has Grown Rapidly Since Early 2025

The $1.2 billion milestone represents substantial growth in a short period. WisdomTree’s tokenized-asset business started 2025 with approximately $30 million and ended the year at approximately $770 million, largely driven by WTGXX. The latest $1.27 billion figure means tokenized AUM has grown roughly 65% since the end of 2025, alongside an expanding number of funds and blockchain networks.

Distribution Partners Span Hong Kong to Singapore

WisdomTree’s digital funds are available across Ethereum Mainnet, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Optimism, Plume, Solana, and Stellar. The company has built distribution relationships including HashKey, a Hong Kong-based broker-dealer, Marketnode, its first Singapore-based tokenized-fund distributor in the Asia-Pacific region, and Synthesys, a Singapore-based tokenization infrastructure provider.

Separately, WisdomTree led a $136 million Series C investment in Fnality International, extending its involvement into wholesale settlement infrastructure.

WisdomTree Onchain Combines Four Platforms

The new brand brings together four components. WisdomTree Prime is the mobile application for U.S. individual investors, offering tokenized funds, yield, gold, and stablecoin connectivity. WisdomTree Connect gives institutions and B2B2C distributors access to the tokenized fund lineup through a portal and published API documentation.

The Onchain Transfer Agent provides infrastructure for issuing and servicing tokenized fund shares. Onchain Markets, still in development, is planned as a dealer-principal trading platform for additional tokenized funds, including ETFs.

WisdomTree has also expanded distribution beyond its own infrastructure. On September 17, it announced a collaboration with MoonPay intended to make WTGXX accessible through MoonPay’s network of more than 35 million accounts, with MoonPay planning to use the fund for its own stablecoin reserve management.

What Comes Next for WisdomTree Onchain

WisdomTree has crossed the $1.2 billion threshold while expanding its tokenized fund lineup to 15 registered funds across eight public blockchains, and said it is also working with other registered fund issuers that want to bring their products onchain.

The next challenge is whether the broader ecosystem can attract meaningful assets beyond WTGXX and establish tokenized funds as practical tools for investment, treasury management, stablecoin reserves, collateral, and settlement, with Onchain Markets remaining under development and its availability subject to change.
