The number of tokenized stock holders more than doubled in the month of August with data from Token Terminal showing that 928.4K new holders were added in the month. This is a growth of around 120% from the previous month where the holder count was sitting at roughly 771K. One month added more holders than every other month that came before it.
Around 55% of the growth in asset holders since Token Terminal began tracking this metric was seen in August. It is also 3.4x the previous monthly record in July, when around 272K new holders were added.
The 120% growth is not really the headline here as there have been other months that have seen faster percentage growth. For instance, in July 2025, the growth rate was around 261%, but that was when holders grew from 20.3K to 73.3. Adding 53K off a 20K base is a small-denominator artifact. August did it with close to a million wallets.
$BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain Hold About 73% of Everything
In terms of asset holders by chain, $BNB chain led the pack with 730K holders followed by Robinhood Chain at 518.8K. 462.7K is the number of holders across every other network in August. Solana is at 335.0K, Base at 61.0K, Ethereum at 56.6K. Arbitrum One, Ink, OP Mainnet and Polygon make up the remaining numbers.
Now when it comes to the issuer composition, Robinhood finished August in pole position. Binance’s bStocks was the standout issuer with an incredible month, growing from 52.9K holders in July to the second spot with 464.7K holders, overtaking xStocks.
Zero Maker Fees and 100 More Robinhood Tokens
Two things drove the month. Binance waived maker fees across all bStocks trading pairs through August, alongside an aggressive listing expansion.
Robinhood Crypto announced on Aug 13 that 100 additional Stock Tokens had gone live on Robinhood Chain, taking the total past 190. That landed in the chain’s first full month after mainnet, with a brokerage base of roughly 28 million users feeding into it.
These Are Wallets, Not People
One caveat that changes how the number should be read. This is a wallet-level count. A single person opening three wallets registers as three holders, and fee promotions and listing campaigns tend to produce exactly that behavior. Incentives inflate wallet counts faster than they inflate users.
Asset-level data points to the same concentration. SPCXb led August at 165.8K holders, followed by NVDAx at 66.5K and QQQb at 65.4K. Everything outside the top ten sits in an “Other” bucket of 1.1 million, which suggests a long tail of thinly held tickers rather than broad depth across names.
September Is Not the Clean Test
Binance extended the zero maker fee promotion on Aug 28, pushing it to Sept 30, and turned on Spot Grid, DCA and Rebalancing bots across roughly 70 bStocks pairs the same day. The incentive behind August is still running, and bot access hands it another distribution channel.
That moves the real test to October. Whether these wallets stay funded once standard fees return is not something September will answer.
