In these hours, the news is circulating again that the CEO of Uber, Dara Khosrowshahi, claims that the company will soon accept payments in Bitcoin and crypto.
“Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, recently confirmed in an interview that the company “will definitely start” accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a payment method in the near future.”
In reality, this statement had already been affirmed by the CEO of Uber in an interview from February 2022, reported by Bloomberg.
In fact, on that occasion, Khosrowshahi had said that probably in the future Uber users will be able to pay for rides with cryptocurrencies.
In this regard, the CEO of Uber had also mentioned the company Tesla as an example, that is, he has put such a decision on hold so that some changes could reduce transaction fees and pollutant emissions.

The same news from February 2022 was then made known again last July 2023, exactly one year ago.
As of today, however, there are still no official revelations on when Uber will actually accept payments in Bitcoin and crypto.
What is certain is that what was declared back in 2021, Uber, unlike other companies like MicroStrategy by Michael Saylor, has not bought Bitcoin.

The price of BTC fluctuates and resists
While the news that Uber accepts payments in Bitcoin and crypto might be positive for the adoption of BTC, today there is good news regarding its price.
And indeed, after a June of continuous bear market, Bitcoin recorded its first week of “resistance”.
In the last seven days, the price of BTC has fluctuated around $56,000, with lows of $54,000 and highs of over $59,000. At the time of writing, BTC is worth $58,149, almost the same as seven days ago.
Even the transaction volume of the last 24 hours is down by -11%, while the total market cap of the queen of crypto remains above the threshold of 1.100 trillion dollars.
