Leading canine-themed token Shiba Inu (SHIB) has garnered investor interest in the past few weeks. The token’s jaw-dropping rally of over 300% in eight days, as seen on March 5, left many investors reminiscing about its glory days in 2021.
Following Shiba Inu’s tremendous rally, the spotlight has been on the token, with new investors flocking to Google, the world’s largest search engine, to learn about the asset.
Shiba Inu Ranks as Second Most Popular Crypto in Europe
In an exciting development, the Shiba Inu ecosystem team took to X to highlight SHIB’s growing popularity worldwide.
Specifically, data from the disclosure confirmed that Shiba Inu is the second most searched cryptocurrency in Europe, behind only Bitcoin (BTC), which saw over 21 European countries search for it.

According to an accompanying report, online searches for Shiba Inu skyrocketed in seven European countries, including Italy, Russia, and France.
This placed Shiba Inu ahead of Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), and Dogecoin (DOGE), which ranked as the third, fourth, and fifth most searched crypto assets in Europe, respectively.
Growing Interest in Shiba Inu
Shiba Inu’s growing popularity in Europe comes shortly after the team disclosed that SHIB has seen increased Google searches in Pakistan, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Canada, and Nigeria.
These countries had the highest number of Shiba Inu-related searches in the past week. Data from Google Trends shows that the most commonly searched phrases for Shiba Inu across various web platforms include “Shiba Inu Coin Price,” “Shiba Inu Coin Prediction,” Shiba Inu Coin News,” and “Shiba Inu Crypto.”
Over the past week, Shiba Inu’s global search popularity reached the 100 peak on March 20 and retraced to 63 the following day. The metric has seen a mild climb to 64 in the hours leading up to press time.
Shiba Inu Achieves New Feat
Meanwhile, according to a poll conducted by WazirX, Shiba Inu ranked as the number 1 meme-based cryptocurrency with the strongest community on the X platform.
Shiba Inu, which received 48% of the total votes, outperformed Dogecoin, Floki Inu, Pepe, and Bonk, among others.
Reacting, the official Shiba Inu X handle noted that the SHIB community will reign supreme over any crypto asset claiming to be the top dog of crypto. The remark is seen as a subtle shade to other doggy-themed cryptocurrencies, especially Dogecoin and Floki Inu.
