Journey to a New Identity
According to CNF prior reports, Sky founder Rune Christensen has announced plans to completely migrate to its new brand by 2025. The change of MKR tokens to SKY tokens marks one of the main turns in this process. This move seeks to clear the ambiguity within the crypto community and offer clarification on the new path Sky Ecosystem is following.
This migration movement is still under progress as of January 30, 2025 and has not been totally finished. By designating MKR as a “wrapper” reflecting 24,000 SKY per MKR, Sky hopes to hasten this transition all year long. Therefore, MKR holders are likely to migrate to SKY shortly to enjoy the whole advantages of this new ecosystem.
Expansion to Solana
By means of an interface with Wormhole’s Native Token Transfer (NTT), Sky Ecosystem is also extending its influence on the Solana network. This action increases cross-chain liquidity and gives users more flexibility by allowing SKY and USDS tokens to be transferred between Ethereum and Solana.
