Nvidia shares climbed 6.7% to approximately $223.71 in premarket trading on Aug. 27 after the chipmaker reported stronger fiscal second-quarter results and issued an above-consensus outlook.
The rally briefly reached about 8% earlier in the session. Bitcoin gained roughly 2.4% to trade near $80,400, while Nasdaq 100 futures advanced about 1.1%. The simultaneous moves reflected wider demand for technology and other risk assets following Nvidia’s report, although earnings alone cannot explain every change in Bitcoin’s price.

Nvidia earnings beat revenue and profit estimates
Nvidia reported revenue of $96.22 billion for the quarter ended July 26, up 18% from the previous quarter and 106% from one year earlier. The result exceeded the $92.2 billion Visible Alpha consensus estimate.
Non-GAAP diluted earnings reached $2.22 per share, compared with expectations near $2.09. Nvidia’s filing showed GAAP net income of $59.69 billion and diluted earnings of $2.46 per share.
Data Center remained the company’s dominant division. Revenue reached $89 billion, rising 18% sequentially and 117% from the prior-year quarter. It accounted for more than 92% of total revenue.
Nvidia returned approximately $26 billion through share repurchases and dividends during the quarter. The company retained about $99 billion under its existing repurchase authorization.
As crypto.news previously reported, Nvidia’s quarterly revenue reached $96.2 billion as AI demand accelerated. The report also showed that Vera Rubin had entered full production.
Bitcoin and AI infrastructure stocks move higher
Bitcoin rose from an intraday low near $77,658 to approximately $80,380, according to current market data. Its 24-hour gain reached about 2.4%, allowing the cryptocurrency to test the psychologically important $80,000 level.
The move coincided with stronger U.S. technology futures and gains across global semiconductor stocks. Bitcoin frequently trades alongside growth equities during broad risk-on sessions, but the relationship changes over time and does not establish Nvidia’s earnings as the sole catalyst.
Companies connecting Bitcoin mining infrastructure with AI computing also advanced before the U.S. opening bell. IREN gained about 5%, while TeraWulf and Cipher Mining each rose approximately 3%, according to early market reports.
These companies have been redirecting power capacity and data centers toward high-performance computing. In related coverage, nine public miners spent $5.11 billion on capital assets during the first half of 2026 while reporting $341.2 million in AI and computing revenue.
IREN has also expanded its direct relationship with Nvidia. The companies previously signed an arrangement covering AI infrastructure, as crypto.news reported when the five-year Nvidia agreement was valued at $3.4 billion.
Nvidia’s $108 billion outlook supports the rally
Nvidia expects fiscal third-quarter revenue of $108 billion, plus or minus 2%. That forecast exceeded Wall Street expectations near $104 billion.
The outlook assumes no Data Center compute revenue from China. Export controls and wider geopolitical restrictions therefore remain potential constraints on the company’s addressable market.
Management also offered an unusually early fiscal 2028 forecast. Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress said customer projections indicated that Nvidia’s growth could double next year. However, Nvidia expects revenue growth of approximately 70% because supply will remain constrained through fiscal 2028.
CEO Jensen Huang said AI agents can require 15 to 100 times more computing power than conventional interactions initiated by human prompts. That calculation is a company estimate and depends on the models, tasks and deployment methods involved.
Memory costs and Hugging Face report remain in focus
Nvidia expects third-quarter gross margin of 74%, plus or minus 50 basis points. Management said margins could bottom between 71% and 72% in the fourth quarter because of higher memory prices.
The company expects margins to settle between 72% and 73% during fiscal 2028 as planned price increases take effect. Whether those increases fully offset memory costs will depend on supply conditions and customer demand.
Separately, The Information reported that Nvidia agreed to acquire open-source AI platform Hugging Face for $12.9 billion. Reuters also carried the report but attributed the information to The Information.
Neither Nvidia nor Hugging Face had published an official announcement or regulatory filing confirming the agreement at the time of writing. The purchase price, completion terms and regulatory timetable should therefore be treated as “reported” rather than company-confirmed.
Investors will next watch Nvidia’s regular-session performance, updated analyst estimates and third-quarter execution. The company’s next results will test whether supply capacity can keep pace with the revenue demand described by management.
