$USDsui may be the most immediately practical addition. Mercado Bitcoin says the stablecoin can be used right away as collateral in its lending products, per the same report.
The integration grows out of an ongoing collaboration between Mercado Bitcoin, Mysten Labs and the Sui Foundation. Mysten Labs is the company behind Sui’s development, while the Sui Foundation supports the network’s ecosystem. The stated goal is to make Sui-based finance easier to reach in Brazil, which the partners treat as a key market in South America.
Mercado Bitcoin’s Position in Brazil
Mercado Bitcoin was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in São Paulo, where Coinranking describes it as the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Brazil. The same profile notes it was the first crypto platform in Latin America to obtain a payment institution license from Brazil’s central bank, in June 2023.
The exchange has added other blockchain networks in recent years. In December 2024, crypto.news reported that it integrated INJ, the native token of the Injective blockchain, and was among the first exchanges to list Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. In July 2025, CoinDesk reported that it planned to tokenize more than $200 million in real-world assets on the $XRP Ledger.
Crypto Briefing described the Sui move as less a simple token listing and more an early step in a broader plan to place several of the exchange’s product lines on Sui.
