Once connected, a Ledger Wallet panel opens inside the app showing the user’s balances, with buttons to send, receive, swap, buy and sell.
Ledger describes direct access as a way to connect a signer to a supported decentralised app without routing through a third-party software wallet or browser extension. The aim is to remove the intermediary that can leave users approving transactions they cannot read, a practice known as blind signing.
Clear Signing shows each action in plain language on the device’s secure screen before approval. Ledger says Transaction Check also screens each request. Clear Signing is built on the open-source ERC-7730 standard, according to Ledger’s documentation.
Program Expands Beyond Swaps
Ledger says the direct access programme launched at Ledger Op3n 2025 with 1inch and later expanded to Velora, both for swapping. It describes Morpho as the first onchain credit network to join, extending the feature from swaps to vault deposits and borrowing.
The move follows Ledger’s rollout of Crypto Loan, a feature in Ledger Wallet that lets eligible users borrow USDC or USDT against wrapped Bitcoin through Morpho. Crypto.news reported that Yield.xyz handles the loan flow and position monitoring, while Morpho provides the lending infrastructure. Ledger said borrowing availability depends on the user’s country.
Morpho is an open-source lending network that runs on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible blockchains, and its governance relies on the $MORPHO token, according to Wikipedia’s overview of the protocol.
Users should note that DeFi lending carries risks, including liquidation if collateral values fall. Ledger has said borrowers face liquidation risk and that rates vary with lending-market use.
