Ethereum is hovering around $2,470 on Sept. 10 after a sharp late-August rebound, but the recent slowdown may be setting up a much larger move.
A fresh Reuters technical analysis identified a bull flag after Ether rallied roughly 37% in 10 days and peaked near $2,564. Based on the height of that advance, the pattern points to a potential $3,050 target if $ETH breaks out of its current consolidation.
The target is not completely arbitrary. Reuters noted that the $3,040–$3,060 region previously acted as resistance, giving the projected move a historical level traders are already familiar with.
Ethereum has already cleared levels that looked difficult only weeks ago. Coinpaper’s earlier $ETH price analysis highlighted improving relative strength against Bitcoin, while another recent report showed $ETH jumping above $2,400 as institutional demand returned.
$2,350 Is the Level Bulls Cannot Lose
The bullish setup has a very clear failure point.
A sustained break below $2,350-$2,360 would invalidate the current flag structure and weaken the case for a push toward $3,050. That leaves Ethereum trading inside a fairly tight decision zone, with bulls needing to protect support while eventually taking out the recent $2,564 high.
A move through roughly $2,560-$2,600 would make a run toward $3,000 easier to justify technically. Until then, $ETH remains trapped between a bullish pattern and a macro environment that has become much less forgiving.
That contrast is what makes the setup interesting.
$100 Oil Adds a New Risk to the Breakout
Ethereum’s consolidation is happening while traditional markets are dealing with another inflation shock.
Reuters reported that oil moved above $100 as bond yields climbed, with investors becoming increasingly concerned about the inflation impact of higher energy prices.
That is normally an uncomfortable backdrop for crypto. Higher yields raise the opportunity cost of holding speculative assets and can pressure valuations across risk markets.
Yet Ethereum has not broken down.
That resilience follows a period of stronger crypto momentum, including a recent report showing Ethereum Layer 2 networks processing 94% of ecosystem transactions, reinforcing the wider activity story even as $ETH’s price pauses.
