BTC Faces $65,000 Test as Spot Demand Builds

Bitcoin is pressing into a decisive resistance cluster near $65,000, where a 78.6% Fibonacci retracement and a descending trendline could determine the next short-term move. Improving spot and perpetual-futures demand supports a potential advance toward $67,000 to $68,000, but another rejection could expose support between $62,000 and $63,000.

Bitcoin Tests a Critical 78.6% Retracement Below Descending Resistance

Bitcoin is testing a key short-term resistance area after recovering from its latest local low. The chart places $BTC near the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement at $65,073.57, but the analyst notes that price has not produced a confirmed breakout signal.

Bitcoin was trading near $64,619 in the chart, slightly above the 61.8% retracement at $64,560.92 but still below the more important 78.6% level at $65,073.57. That narrow range creates an immediate decision zone for the $BTC price.

A sustained move above $65,074 would provide the first stronger sign that buyers are taking control. However, the chart also shows a descending trendline from the earlier peak near $66,000, meaning Bitcoin may need to clear both the Fibonacci barrier and the falling resistance line before traders can treat the recovery as a confirmed breakout.

A successful breakout could open the way toward $66,291, which marks the 38.2% level of the chart’s larger projected range. Above that, the next major resistance levels appear near $69,166 and $72,165. Those targets remain conditional because the chart does not yet show confirmation above the current resistance cluster.

The bearish scenario stays active while $BTC remains below $65,074 and the descending trendline. A rejection could send Bitcoin back toward the recent consolidation floor around $63,000. The chart then highlights deeper Fibonacci support at $62,533.71, followed by $61,592.50 and $60,665.46.

The lowest marked downside level sits near $59,369.64. The Elliott Wave labels suggest the analyst is still considering a broader corrective move into that lower support region, although this remains a projected scenario rather than a confirmed outcome.

Spot Demand Improves as Bitcoin Challenges $65,000

The second chart adds market-flow evidence to Bitcoin’s recovery, showing stronger buying in both spot and perpetual futures after the post-FOMC decline. However, the analyst treats $65,000 as the key confirmation level because open interest remains uneven and neither side has established clear control.

Bitcoin was trading near $64,886 on the one-hour chart after rebounding from the recent low around $63,000. Price repeatedly reclaimed local highs during the recovery, suggesting buyers absorbed the earlier selling pressure instead of allowing the decline to accelerate.

The strongest supporting signal comes from spot cumulative volume delta, or CVD, which tracks the balance between aggressive buying and selling. Spot CVD remained slightly negative on the chart but rose sharply from its low, indicating that direct Bitcoin demand was recovering. Perpetual-futures CVD also climbed steadily, showing that derivatives traders participated in the rebound.

Open interest presented a less decisive picture. It remained elevated but moved repeatedly between local highs and lows, which the analyst interpreted as a lack of firm positioning from either bulls or bears. That makes the quality of the next move especially important.

In the bullish scenario, Bitcoin must break above $65,000 with spot CVD returning to positive territory and open interest rising alongside price. That combination would indicate that fresh buying, rather than only short covering, is supporting the breakout. The chart identifies $67,000 to $68,000 as the next upside area if $BTC clears resistance with strength.

The bearish scenario begins with another rejection from $65,000. If spot and perpetual CVD roll over while open interest spikes during the decline, leveraged long positions could face a broader flush toward $62,000 to $63,000.

The analyst also highlights an upside fair value gap that could attract price before a deeper reversal. Under that alternative scenario, Bitcoin could briefly push higher around the monthly opening period and then turn toward $60,000 to $62,000. This remains a conditional projection rather than a confirmed path.

The practical takeaway is that $65,000 is more than a price barrier. A sustained move above it, backed by stronger spot demand and expanding open interest, would support the bullish case. Another rejection accompanied by weakening CVD would instead reinforce the downside setup.
