On October 29, Hurun Research Institute released the latest “2024 Hengchang Shaofang Hurun Rich List”, which also features former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao(aka CZ) with a wealth of 135 billion yuan.
CZ ranked 16th on the Hurun Rich List even though he paid more than $7 billion in fines due to judicial settlements in the past year. CZ’s personal wealth increased by 90 billion yuan compared with last year, thanks to the rise in Bitcoin prices, which is now nearing the all time high mark after crossing $71K today and the overall growth in cryptocurrency trading volume. CZ is presently ranking second in the annual wealth growth list.
After serving a four-month sentence for failing to implement proper anti-money laundering controls at the world’s leading crypto exchange, Binance, CZ was released on 29th September. Even though he is barred from any management engagement in Binance, CZ, remains the major shareholder in the company. As for now, CZ recently announced that he will attend the Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai, scheduled for October 30-31, 2024, which marks his first public appearance post his prison serving. Even with his no-formal engagement in Binance, CZ fans remain excited to see what is next for CZ.
