Bitcoin’s supply distribution is tilting further toward larger players as the number of wallets holding at least 10,000 $BTC reached 90 for the first time in six months. The shift marks a net addition of six such elite addresses over the past eight weeks, a 7.1% rise that has drawn the attention of on-chain analysts. According to the Santiment update, the move coincides with a noticeable contraction among smaller holders, whose micro wallet balances have been declining through August. This supply rotation is not happening in a vacuum. Retail sentiment has soured in recent weeks, driven by a pair of…
Fidelity is preparing to add staking and quarterly cash payouts to its Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH), one of the largest spot ether ETFs in the U.S. FETH, with $898 million in net assets, could stake as much as 100% of its ether under normal conditions, though Fidelity set no minimum, according to an amended registration statement. The fund would keep some $ETH available for redemptions, expenses and other liquidity needs. The shift follows an IRS safe harbor bulletin issued in November 2025 that lets qualifying crypto trusts stake assets without losing their grantor-trust tax status. Fidelity would join Grayscale and…
Tomorrow sees a massive liquidity trap for Bitcoin as the US Treasury is quietly draining $77 billion from bank reserves
Bank reserves fell $77.579 billion on a weekly-average basis last week ending July 29. Days later, the US Treasury borrowing estimate for July through September rose by $68 billion. The overlap puts Bitcoin’s liquidity setup under scrutiny. Several forces moved across the Fed’s balance sheet, blurring any direct line from Treasury cash to the reserve decline. The US Treasury borrowing estimate released on Aug. 3 puts the end-September cash balance at $950 billion. Against its May 4 baseline, the headline increase is $68 billion. Strip out the $19 billion higher starting balance, and the revision grows to $87 billion, driven…
Grayscale has filed a registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to launch an exchange traded fund that would hold Worldcoin’s $WLD token directly. The proposed Grayscale Worldcoin ETF would seek to list on Nasdaq under the ticker GWLD. Its shares would track the value of the $WLD held by the trust using the CoinDesk Worldcoin Benchmark Rate, minus fees and other expenses. Grayscale has not yet disclosed the fund’s management fee, initial seed investment or the amount of $WLD represented by each share. Those fields were left blank in the prospectus and are expected to be completed…

Ethereum-focused investment firm Bitmine (BMNR) has significantly expanded its staking position, adding $289.4 million worth of $ETH over the past week. According to blockchain analytics platform Arkham, Bitmine’s staked Ether now represents approximately 4.2% of Ethereum’s total supply. This move underscores a growing trend of institutional players consolidating influence over the network’s proof-of-stake mechanism. What This Means for Ethereum’s Staking Landscape Bitmine’s latest acquisition brings its total staked $ETH to a level that gives it substantial influence within Ethereum’s validator set. As of this week, the company’s staked holdings rank among the largest on the network, rivaling major exchanges and…
Maurice, a former Pokémon card seller, told CoinDesk in a 2024 podcast interview that he and Justin Poiroux, the firm’s chief technology officer, founded Yellow Card to take on big banks and Swift, the interbank service that processes over 53 million secure messaging instructions a day for nearly 11,500 financial institutions. Swift facilitates trillions of dollars in global bank transactions and said last month it was testing its first blockchain ledger. Yellow Card, which focuses mostly on emerging markets, will use the new capital to expand Global USD Accounts, its dollar account product for businesses, and add stablecoin and local…
Injective’s $INJ token launched on Robinhood at $4.76–$5.00 on July 16, giving the layer-1 blockchain a roughly $494M market cap, and that listing was only the second headline out of a Washington, D.C. summit, with an Injective SEC filing stealing the headlines. Alongside a Robinhood listing, Injective also packed an SEC filing, a Linux Foundation membership, an AI development kit, and a MiCA whitepaper into a single press cycle. The SEC item is the one being widely misread, and the misreading matters. Here are just some of the highlights from the Injective Summit in DC: @RobinhoodApp listing $INJ Filed SEC…
The United States and the United Kingdom reaffirmed their commitment to closer financial regulatory cooperation during a recent bilateral working group, signaling continued policy alignment on digital assets as US authorities move to implement landmark stablecoin legislation.
