Digital infrastructure company Soluna Holdings reported strong first-quarter revenue growth as expanding data center operations helped offset weaker returns from cryptocurrency mining. Revenue rose 58% from a year earlier to $9.4 million and increased 2% from the previous quarter, according to the company’s earnings report released Monday. It was Soluna’s fourth-consecutive quarter of sequential revenue growth. The gains were driven by additional capacity coming online at the company’s Dorothy and Kati sites in Texas. Data center hosting generated $6.7 million in revenue, while cryptocurrency mining contributed roughly $2.2 million, down from nearly $3 million the year before, as Bitcoin mining…
Over the years, the reasons for institutional investors staking digital assets have changed. A few years ago, investors viewed digital assets mainly as speculative instruments. This led smart money to avoid them due to their high volatility. However, blockchain use cases have expanded from tokenization and cross-border payments to staking. As a result, institutions have started accumulating utility-driven assets, with Solana standing out due to its fast and low-cost network. More importantly, its stablecoin flows have strengthened. According to DeFiLlama, the total stablecoin supply on the network has jumped over 6% this week alone. However, the key takeaway is that…
Bitcoin ETFs have pulled in nearly $2.5 billion over the past month, erasing almost all year-to-date outflows and displaying what Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Eric Balchunas calls “incredible fortitude” amid Bitcoin’s 40% price drawdown. The March streak has been underscored by nine days of inflows exceeding $150 million, including a $458.19 million day on March 2 and back-to-back $200 million days on March 16 and 17, according to SoSoValue data. Yeah bitcoin ETFs now $2.5b for month and one good day away from completely digging out of their YTD flow hole. $IBIT is already there and then some, in top 2%…
Bitcoin is heading into a rare macro window where the first reaction may age fast. The Federal Reserve is scheduled to conclude its April meeting on April 29, with the FOMC decision and press conference landing that afternoon. The next morning, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis is scheduled to release the first quarter GDP and March Personal Income and Outlays, the report that includes PCE inflation. That gives traders a two-step test with almost no pause between the steps. First, they get the Fed’s view on rates, growth, and inflation. Then they get fresh data that can support that…
Russia’s Moscow Exchange has officially launched a live institutional $XRP index. This marks another step in the country’s growing push toward regulated crypto market infrastructure. The new benchmark, called MOEXXRP, went live on May 13. This tracks the $XRP/$USDT trading pair using weighted pricing data from major global crypto exchanges. The launch also included similar indexes for Solana, BNB, and TRON. For institutional investors, the move creates a regulated way to track $XRP performance without directly holding crypto assets. It also expands Russia’s broader effort to build alternative financial infrastructure as digital assets become more integrated into global markets. At…
The strategy comes as Canaan’s newer business lines grow faster than its traditional mining hardware segment, suggesting the company is becoming less reliant on industrial equipment sales. Home-mining product revenue surged 850% year over year to $24.6mn in 2025, while self-mining revenue rose 98.5%, outpacing 82.2% growth in industrial mining equipment revenue. Still, industrial hardware remained the company’s largest business, accounting for 73.7% of revenue. “The network is expanding, but in a different way. In the past, it was driven by public companies, large data centers… right now, I see that trend is changing. The drivers have been changed to…
Adam Back, One of the Candidates for Satoshi Nakamoto, Responds to Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson’s Claims About ADA and Bitcoin
Charles Hoskinson stated that there is more than a 50% chance that commercial-scale quantum systems capable of threatening current digital security systems will emerge by 2033. Hoskinson argued that the cryptocurrency sector should start preparing now for potential quantum threats to existing cryptographic methods. According to Hoskinson, sufficiently advanced quantum computers could reach the capacity to decipher the mathematical structures that protect private keys and transaction signatures used in current blockchain networks. He specifically mentions that methods like the Shor algorithm have the potential to break traditional cryptographic systems, which could pose a long-term security risk for Bitcoin and other…
Bitcoin’s push toward $72,000 stalled after Iran rebuffed ceasefire chatter, insisting that no talks have occurred since the war began in late February, state media FARS reported Wednesday. These comments directly oppose President Donald Trump’s claim on Monday that diplomatic talks were underway. Citing the discussions’ positive tone, Trump announced a five-day pause on any military strikes against Iran’s power and energy facilities while negotiations continue to move forward. Despite offers from regional and international mediators, Iran said it would continue its military defenses. Bullish momentum faltered as Iran shot down reports of talks with the US. According to TradingView,…
