A feature documentary on the co-founder of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin is set to premiere on April 15, 2025. According to the latest post by the producers of the movie, it will be available on streaming platforms like Prime and Apple TV, starting from April 15.
In the teaser that was made available on blogging platform X, pre-orders are also open to users who want to support the feature documentary. The released trailer features the life of Vitalik Buterin as a young prodigy who set out to reimagine the internet. The movie takes a close look at the life of the inventor, through his early years, right up to the moment he became a leader in the technology space.
The documentary also features Ethereum, and how it evolved over the years into a global movement, becoming a billion-dollar project in the rising cryptocurrency industry. The movie looks at Ethereum through the lenses of Buterin and how he has been able to redesign the future of the internet through the project.
Vitalik Buterin’s documentary captures Ethereum’s history
The highlights captured in the trailer, show the humble beginnings of Vitalik Buterin, with a scene showing him a little boy of about five years wielding a bat in a garden. It also captures the several stages of development that Ethereum has undergone since its inception, showing several integral stages where the project hit milestones.

In addition, the footage also showed the NFT gold rush, the battle for the king of the internet and the multiple periods of collapse that the industry has suffered during the blockchain era. Other details in the trailer showed the step-by-step software upgrade of the Ethereum blockchain, headed by an unreluctant leader whose genius mind got him the deserved spotlight.
Ethereum has come a long way since it launched on July 30, 2015, with its Genesis block containing 8,893 transactions. The initial set of transactions on Ethereum’s Frontier allocated different amounts of Ether tokens to different wallet addresses, introducing a block reward of about 5 ETH. Since then, the blockchain has evolved, seeing a lot of creations and other decentralized blockchain solutions like that of competitors Cardano and Solana.
Crypto community members share reactions to the documentary
Since its creation ten years ago, Ethereum has fought for its place, with the project currently sitting comfortably in second place in terms of market capitalization. The project has also enjoyed the support of its crypto community members, who have watched Ethereum’s price go from under $1 in 2015 to about $4,891 in November 2021, the token’s all-time high to this day. The token has suffered a lot of pullbacks following several bear markets, it is now trading at about $1,921 at the time of writing.
In a previous post by the handle in charge of the documentary, it noted that the documentary is available on all Emirates and Cathay Pacific flights. “Small first step of our mainstream distribution, Vitalik: An Ethereum Story documentary is now available on any Emirates and Cathay Pacific flight! Meanwhile, the documentary has been met with mixed reactions from members of the crypto community on X. While most of them believe that the premiere could send the price of Ethereum to the moon, others are anticipating the release of the documentary just to get to know Vitalik Buterin better. According to a user, he expects it to be a good watch for both the crypto and non-crypto people.
