Europe’s crypto sector is heading into its sharpest regulatory contraction in years, with roughly 210 firms holding a Markets in Crypto-Assets licence ahead of the July 1 deadline. That figure represents about 7% to 8% of the nearly 2,747 Virtual Asset Service Provider registrations recorded across the European Union in 2024.
