The Shiba Inu ecosystem team shares a new update about the play-to-earn (P2E) version of its upcoming Collectible Card Game (CCG), Shiba Eternity.
In an X post yesterday, Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie, disclosed that the highly anticipated blockchain version of Shiba Eternity is nearing its launch. She emphasized that the game already has a mobile version that allows players to earn ‘Kibbles.’

Potential Features of Shiba Eternity
However, the marketing lead noted that the upcoming blockchain version of Shiba Eternity will differ from the mobile version released in October 2022. Notably, she highlighted some hypothetical features of the forthcoming version.
At the top of the list is the upcoming TREAT token. Lucie noted that the token will play a significant role in Shiba Eternity. As reported earlier, Lucie said the Shiba Inu community could earn TREAT while playing the game. While players earn Kibbles in the mobile version of Shiba Eternity, they will earn TREAT when the game debuts on Shibarium.
According to Lucie, the second feature that the upcoming Shiba Eternity will offer is the use of Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) within the game store. This suggests that players could purchase in-game assets from the Shiba Eternity store using BONE.
Third, Lucie emphasized the importance of Shiboshi ownership in the upcoming Shiba Eternity game. To interact with other Shiboshis, players will need to own genuine Shiboshi NFTs or rent them from holders.
With Shiba Eternity expected to debut on Shibarium, the marketing lead said the game could potentially bolster the network’s transaction volume, leading to significant SHIB burns.
Meanwhile, Lucie stated that details about the upcoming features of Shiba Eternity are speculative and subject to change.
Current Status of Shiba Eternity
Shiba Inu’s development team has been working behind the scenes to launch the blockchain version of Shiba Eternity. The team has been identifying and fixing bugs through ongoing in-house testing in anticipation of the beta testing scheduled to commence in Q2 2024.
Upon completing the beta testing, with all bugs fixed, the Shiba Inu ecosystem team would decide when to launch the P2E version of the game on Shibarium’s mainnet. In December, Lucie projected that the launch could happen this year.
