“Anchorage Digital Bank is purpose-built to issue stablecoins at scale under federal oversight. Securitize is where the world’s largest asset managers bring funds onchain, and now the dollars moving through that platform come from a federally chartered bank. Regulated issuance is what lets tokenization reach institutional scale,” said Nathan McCauley, Co-Founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital.
The BUIDL Loop
The two companies are already linked through reserves. As of Aug. 31, about 99% of the $530 million backing USDtb, the stablecoin Anchorage Digital Bank issues with Ethena Labs, sat in BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, which Securitize tokenizes, according to Anchorage’s attested reserve report. The partnership adds the mint and redeem leg to that relationship.
“We built Securitize on the conviction that every stock, bond, and fund eventually becomes a digital asset. Getting there means the dollar side of every transaction has to hold up to the same scrutiny as the securities side. Working with Anchorage Digital Bank gives us direct access to digital dollars issued under federal oversight, custodied by the same institution that issues them,” said Carlos Domingo, Chairman and CEO of Securitize.
What Is Not Specified
The announcement names no start date, no stablecoins beyond Anchorage Digital Bank’s issuance set, and no minimum or fee terms for direct mint and redemption. Anchorage Digital Bank’s issuance set includes USDtb, issued with Ethena Labs, and USA₮, developed with Tether.
The deal lands in a quarter where tokenized collateral keeps moving into regulated plumbing. BNY and Citadel Securities used a tokenized Treasury fund in an overnight repo this month, and DTCC outlined a 25-security tokenization rollout on Canton and Besu.
Securitize trades on the NYSE under SECZ. Anchorage Digital is privately held.
