Ripple CEO shilled the star-studded Ripple Swell 2024 event on Thursday, stating it will be the best yet.
Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, has expressed his excitement over a star-stacked speaker list for the upcoming annual Ripple Swell 2024 event. In a post on Thursday, Garlinghouse stated that this year’s edition would be the best version yet.
The Ripple boss quoted a tweet from the firm revealing the speakers for the upcoming Ripple Swell event. The list comprised heavyweights in the crypto, fintech, and payment sectors.
This year’s Ripple event will happen between October 15 and 16. The payment giant will host the two-day event in Miami, Florida.
Ripple to Host Heavyweights
Garlinghouse is the first influential name to speak at the Swell event in October. The Ripple CEO played a crucial role in the victory of the Ripple vs. SEC case, for which a final decision was made on August 7.
Adrienne Harris, the superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDF), is next on the list. Sheila Bair, the former chair of the FDIC and founding chair of the Systemic Risk Council, will also speak at the event.
Others on the list include Francisco Marot, the Global Head of Blockchain and Digital Assets at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA); Philip Martin, the Chief Security Officer at Coinbase; and Tim McCourt, the Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Equity, FX, and Alternative Products at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) group.
These speakers have extensive experience in cryptocurrency, fintech, and cross-border payment systems. Garlinghouse revealed that Bloomberg was the official media partner for the October event.
Over the years, the Ripple Swell event has been accompanied by notable announcements, partnerships, and price impacts on XRP. Last year’s November event saw XRP surge significantly in the days leading up to the occasion, then corrected during the program. Ripple also announced a collaboration with Onafriq on the first day of the 2023 edition.
XRP continued to hover around $0.6 on Friday, down less than 1% in the past 24 hours. It currently has a market cap of $33.7 billion.
