RFPs successfully onboard new DAO members and fund Centre Point travel grants

The GrantShares platform has seen a wave of activity in recent months, with a wide range of proposals submitted, executed, expired, or withdrawn.

Highlights include the onboarding of new DAO members, renewed development support for projects like Pixudi and NeoRedPill Shop, and the introduction of requested proposal formats, which catalyzed the activity increase.

Below is an overview of proposals that have been submitted since the last update article.


2023

$ND project
Submitted: Nov 17
Status: Cancelled
A proposal by NeoDashboard to launch smart contracts for a bNEO-based staking and liquidity model, requesting 1,000 NEO, was withdrawn after feedback called for further clarity on mechanisms and value generation. The $ND project was designed as a proof-of-concept for safer token launches.

NEOCAST: Transforming Web3 Communication
Submitted: Nov 23
Status: Cancelled
NEOCAST proposed a push notification and messaging system for Neo applications, requesting 883 NEO. Despite technical interest, the proposal was withdrawn without progressing to the vote.

Add member multi-sig address as a treasury funder
Submitted: Nov 30
Status: Executed
This internal proposal introduced a new multi-signature address composed of all GrantShares voting members as a treasury funder. The addition allows for reimbursements to the treasury in cases of fund overpayment or price volatility. It was executed successfully.

IqraCrypto: Arabic Initiative

Status: Discussion
A proposal requesting 634 GAS was submitted to create Arabic-language educational content focused on the Neo blockchain. IqraCrypto aims to address the lack of Arabic resources by producing a structured course, short videos, and an article.

Footprint Analytics

Footprint Analytics proposed a data infrastructure platform for Neo, requesting 4,167 NEO to deliver blockchain indexing, API access, dashboards, and structured analytics over three milestones. The three-month plan involves a team of three, with funding covering engineering, storage, node operations, and long-term support.

Pixudi (Milestone 2, initial submission)

Status: Expired
A 1,355 NEO request to expand the Pixudi game with NeoFS integration, new mechanics, a Neo-themed board, and marketplace items expired without endorsement. The submission was aimed at bridging traditional board games with NFT/GameFi and included plans for NeoFS and smart contract integration. Community feedback requested a more detailed itemized funding breakdown.

NEON-JS for Sandox IDE

Status: Expired
The Sandox IDE team requested 575 NEO to integrate Neon-js for browser-based Neo dApp development. The IDE offers a WASM-based plug-in architecture and ES6 support for direct code execution, but the proposal was not endorsed due to overlap with existing tooling.

Octan Finance

Octan Finance proposed a new AMM model using an Elastic Parameterized Limit Order Book to deliver higher capital efficiency without UX complexity. The 2,142 NEO request covers formal verification, smart contract development, and frontend UI. Over a 90-day timeline, the team aims to deploy a testnet prototype on NEO-EVM.

Invariant submitted a 4,500 NEO request to deploy a permissionless concentrated liquidity AMM on Neo N3. The project spans five milestones including smart contracts, a TypeScript SDK, web integration, analytics tools, and marketing.

Pixudi (Milestone 2, updated submission)

Status: Expired
The updated 1,355 NEO request for Pixudi’s Milestone 2 incorporated feedback on NFT mechanics, SoulBound tokens, and ecosystem integrations, including a Neo-themed partner board and improved NeoFS usage. A case study article and detailed roadmap were also shared. The proposal expired after missing the endorsement deadline.

NEO.coupons
Submitted: Feb 11
Status: Rejected
The NEO.coupons team requested 560 NEO to build a platform for sending NEP-17-backed coupons via email. Despite a phased rollout plan, the proposal raised concerns about onboarding UX, contract security, and long-term sustainability.

Pixudi (Milestone 2, reduced request)

Status: Executed
Following prior feedback, Pixudi submitted a revised 1,000 NEO request that retained deliverables while reaffirming mainnet NeoFS over IPFS and sharing code for on-chain integrations. The update emphasized Neo-focused development and received approval, leading to successful execution.

RootSwap x NEO X

Status: Cancelled
RootSwap submitted a proposal requesting 5,000 NEO to develop a DeFi platform on NEO X. Due to the scale and suitability concerns, it was deemed a better fit for a different funding route and was withdrawn by the proposer.

NDEX Platform (Part 1)

Status: Expired
The creator of NeoDashboard proposed a 1,100 GAS grant to build token creation, sales, and airdrop modules in a modular platform. The proposal was endorsed and received majority support in voting, but ultimately was allowed to expire before execution due to uncovered regulatory concerns.

Ecosystem Marketing Proposal

Status: Cancelled
MarketAcross proposed a $50,000 campaign to boost ecosystem visibility, requesting 3,185 NEO. The proposal was cancelled after receiving feedback that it lacked tailored strategies and deliverables for Neo’s current growth stage.

Tunestamp

Status: Expired
Tunestamp requested 1,125 NEO to integrate its copyright timestamping platform with Neo. The project planned a two-month roadmap for UI improvements, Neo integration, outreach, and compliance work. The proposal expired without moving forward after failing to attract significant interest.

New GameFi Approach

A proposal requesting 600 NEO was submitted for a Telegram-based GameFi platform where users compete in rooms for pooled rewards from $DEGEN token deposits. Feedback focused on token inconsistencies and roadmap clarity. No votes or endorsements have occurred.

GasPot Raffle Funding

Status: Discussion
Gaspot requested 1,100 NEO to automate its raffle process and add features like wallet login and a monthly “super gaspot” jackpot. While community support was expressed, clarity on development costs and deliverables was requested.

Fantasy Football/Soccer League

A 1,200 GAS request aimed to develop a browser-based fantasy football game on Neo N3 and Neo X, with NFT player cards and blockchain-based scoring. Concerns about feasibility, API use, and team credentials led to the proposal being withdrawn.

Raremind

A 1,750 GAS proposal was submitted to develop Raremind, a Web3-integrated, gamified online chess platform. Users would connect accounts from Chess.com/Lichess.org, convert points to tokens, and participate in prediction markets. Deliverables include Neo X-based ERC721 NFTs and a token/liquidity pool.

Fantasy Soccer League with YouTube Demo

Status: Cancelled
This revised fantasy soccer proposal requested 2,600 GAS and included a video demo. Despite updates, it was ultimately withdrawn after community concerns about project clarity and resource use.

Vietnam Giveaway Events

A 120 GAS proposal was approved and executed to fund promotional events distributing GAS to Vietnamese users. The goal was to increase local engagement with the Neo ecosystem through educational content and wallet onboarding.

Airdrop for Neoverse Holders

A proposal to airdrop $NDMEME tokens, purchased with the requested 1,000 GAS, to holders of Neoverse NFTs was approved and executed. The airdrop was aimed at rewarding early supporters and generating activity.

A proposal for DexGO, a Move-To-Earn and Learn-To-Earn social NFT game with AR elements and real-world route exploration, requested 3,516 NEO for smart contract implementation, integration, and post-launch marketing.

GrantShares Supports Neo X

A 1 GAS request celebrating Neo X support and testing the mainnet flow was opened symbolically. It was rejected due to insufficient votes to pass.

NeoRedPill Shop

A 1,581 GAS grant was approved to build the “NeoRedPill” online shop that would accept NEP-17 tokens. It included integration with Neo wallets and aims to demonstrate practical commerce use cases.

NEO Blockchain Co-Working Space Hub

A proposal to launch a Neo-branded co-working space, requesting 5,000 NEO, expired without endorsement. The initiative was aimed at increasing the physical visibility of Neo in developer communities by providing resources and hosting events.

Raihno – AI-Aided Workout Tracking

Status: Discussion
Raihno, a project by Neo community contributor Merl, requested 6,300 GAS to develop a blockchain-integrated fitness app using NeoX for NFT achievements and NeoFS for decentralized data storage. The proposal remains unendorsed.

NEO Model Context Protocol Server (MCP)
Submitted: Apr 20
Status: Discussion
The MCP proposal seeks to enable AI applications to query Neo blockchain data using natural language. 3,500 NEO was requested to build an MCP server, documentation, and tutorials; the proposal discussion noted existing solutions.

Requested Proposals

This update marks the first time that the GrantShares platform has received submissions for requested proposals. Request For Proposals provide voting members a way to signal desire for different initiatives.

The first RFP was a call for new GrantShares voting members. This initiative was undertaken to improve platform due diligence and growth.

GS-001: Charlie Sun as a new DAO Member

This proposal successfully added Charlie Sun as a new DAO voting member.

GS-001: Ioannis as a new DAO Member
Submitted: Mar 12
Status: Discussion
A proposal to appoint Ioannis as a GrantShares DAO member was opened for discussion with a critical reception regarding the submission’s quality and lack of demonstrated due diligence.

GS-001: NEOF1 as a new DAO Member
Submitted: Mar 18
Status: Executed
The NEOF1 team, led by long-term community builders Boris and Sky, was added as a new DAO member following a successful execution of this proposal.

GS-001: NDMEME as a new DAO Member

Status: Executed
NDMEME (NeoDashboard and Snakey) was officially added as a voting member of the GrantShares DAO.

GS-001: Mohamed as a new DAO Member
Submitted: Mar 27
Status: Discussion
A proposal to add Mohamed Stef, a leader from the Neo Arabic community, as a GrantShares voting member remains in the discussion phase. Initial submission issues regarding key posting were addressed.

GS-001: Pixudi as a new DAO Member

Status: Expired
Pixudi submitted a proposal to join the GrantShares DAO as a voting member, offering to contribute governance code and a project evaluation system. The submission expired without endorsement.

The second RFP was concerned with travel grants for the Centre Point initiative which was recently held in Dubai. The grants would sponsor community contributors to participate in the event.

A proposal requesting 250 NEO to provide a travel grant for the Enclave Wallet team to send two members to the Centre Point meeting was cancelled.

Status: Expired
Voxy submitted a 900 GAS request for travel funding for their Community Manager to attend the Neo Blockchain Event in Dubai to gain insights and network. The proposal expired without endorsement.

GS-002: Gil Bueno
Submitted: Mar 27
Status: Cancelled
A proposal requesting 250 NEO for a travel grant for Gil Bueno of Enclave to attend the Centre Point meeting in Dubai was opened and later cancelled by the proposer due to funding challenges and time commitment uncertainties.

GS-002: Unlocking The Chain

Status: Executed
This executed proposal provided a travel grant of 434 NEO for Neo ecosystem contributor “Unlocking The Chain” to attend and cover the Centre Point event.

GS-002: Robin Green (Cassette)

Status: Executed
A travel grant of 280 NEO was approved for Robin Green, a contributor from the Cassette team, to attend the Centre Point meeting.

GS-002: Pixudi Game Ecosystem on NEO

A request for travel support (433 NEO) for the Pixudi team to attend the Centre Point event in Dubai and host workshops expired without endorsement due to proposal errors.

An 810 GAS proposal was submitted to fund travel for representatives of Crypto Star Games Academy, a team focused on gamification of blockchain education in LatAm, to attend Centre Point. The proposal did not garner support.

GS-002: Pixudi Game Ecosystem on NEO (corrected)

A corrected proposal for travel funding of 400 NEO was executed to support Pixudi and Neobox representation at the Centre Point event in Dubai, where they planned to host workshops.
