The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held a meeting with representatives of Coinbase and Grayscale Ethereum Trust on March 6, 2024. The meeting was part of an ongoing dialogue between the SEC’s Trading and Markets Division and the two cryptocurrency firms. Commenting on the meeting, Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst, expressed some concerns. “Normally I would say this is a good sign, but to my knowledge, the SEC has yet to make any comments to the ETF companies, which is not a good sign as we are past the time when they comment on Bitcoin ETFs,” he said.…
A bearish indicator that has been quietly receding into the background for Bitcoin is the number of nonzero BTC wallets, indicating that smaller traders might be exiting their positions, a move typically seen as capitulation. This blend of enduring commitment from large investors and a reduction in the smaller wallet counts could paint a bullish canvas for Bitcoin’s future. The logic is straightforward: when whales maintain or increase their holdings, it signals a belief in the asset’s value and an expectation of future price appreciation. In contrast, the departure of smaller traders often serves to cleanse the market of speculative…
