According to a recently released blog from Ondo Finance, Ondo Short-Term US Government Treasuries (OUSG), its tokenized fund is now available on Assetera, a marketplace recognized as Europe’s first MiFID-licensed for blockchain-based securities.
OUSG offers a compliant, yield-bearing investment product that has the support of giants like BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) and high-quality short-term US Treasuries and GSE funds from Franklin Templeton, WisdomTree, Wellington Management, and Fundbridge Capital.
OUSG expands to Europe and the Polygon network
Prior to the expansion, OUSG could be minted and redeemed across Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon. However, with this latest development, it will now also be accessible onchain on Polygon. The achievement aligns with Ondo Finance’s mission to bring traditional finance and blockchain together by making institutional-grade investment products available to new markets.
Assetera’s regulated platform, which is built on Polygon, is famous for being the destination for European institutional investors who want a compliance and security-focused platform to trade tokenized real-world assets.
Thanks to the new integration, accredited investors will now have the opportunity to trade OUSG on the Assetera platform, offering exposure to short-term US Treasuries directly on Assetera’s trading interface. This latest collaboration between Ondo Finance and Assetera is expected to benefit Europe and its investors as they will now be able to enjoy Ondo’s tokenized US Treasuries fund without regulatory headaches because they are trading in a trusted and regulated environment.
OUSG already offers institutional investors perks such as high-quality yield offered through indirect exposure to low-risk, highly liquid US Treasury bills, round-the-clock liquidity that supports instant mints and redemptions, and institutional-level security.
Aside from these factors, the fact that OUSG has $419 million in total value locked (TVL) also makes it an attractive asset for investors who want high-quality yields without forgoing the reliability of US Treasury funds.
On the other half of the collaboration, Assetera has the reputation of a credible platform that offers features that align with institutional expectations, including transparent price discovery, atomic settlement, and custodial and non-custodial options.
Collaborating with such a platform gives credence to Ondo Finance’s broader commitment to making high-quality financial products globally accessible without sacrificing compliance and security.
Ondo Finance has WLFI backing
The announcement of Ondo Finance’s partnership with Assetera comes after World Liberty Financial (WLFI), backed by Donald Trump Jr., unveiled a strategic partnership to integrate tokenized real-world assets into its ecosystem.
According to reports, WLFI is considering the possibility of incorporating Ondo’s tokenized assets as reserve assets, such as OUSG (a tokenized form of short-term US Treasury bonds) and USDY (a yield-bearing USDC token) inside its financial network.
These assets will also be accessible for margin trading, lending, and borrowing on the WLFI platform, giving consumers access to even more investment options. Tokenized assets from Ondo’s future global markets, which provide on-chain access to equities, bonds, and ETFs, will also be included by WLFI.
Speaking about the partnership, Donald Trump Jr. called it a major step in merging traditional finance with blockchain. He highlighted how integrating Ondo’s tokenized assets would give WLFI’s network access to traditional financial instruments and new yield opportunities.
The partnership follows WLFI’s recent investment of $4.7 million USDC to purchase 342,000 ONDO tokens. Ondo Chain, a permissioned layer 1 blockchain that was created with the sole purpose of tokenizing physical assets for institutional finance, was introduced alongside the investment.
