BNB Chain has unveiled a new initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of Real-World Assets (RWAs) in the blockchain space. The BNB Chain RWA Incentive Program that started on May 29, 2025, is open for applications, welcoming teams building or migrating RWA projects to the network.
Real-World Assets bring tangible value to the blockchain. These include tokenized versions of real estate, commodities, bonds, invoices, and more. By putting them on-chain, these assets become more liquid, transparent, and globally accessible.
As the RWA sector gains momentum, BNB Chain wants to be the go-to blockchain for developers and teams building in this domain.

What the RWA Program Offers
Projects accepted into the incentive program gain access to a suite of resources specifically tailored for RWA development. These include:

Open Application Process with No Cut-off Date
Applications opened on May 29, 2025. There’s no deadline—meaning the program will accept entries on a rolling basis. There’s no limit on which RWA sectors can apply—whether you’re tokenizing real estate, government bonds, or art, you’re eligible.
BNB Chain has encouraged developers to integrate their projects with DefiLlama, a popular DeFi analytics dashboard, to offer greater visibility and transparency to the community.
While established projects may be evaluated on metrics like market cap and TVL, early-stage ideas with strong potential will not be overlooked. Importantly, rejected applications may still be reconsidered later, which gives room for iteration and re-application.

The RWA Incentive program was announced a few weeks after the VanEck Treasury Fund (VBILL), a tokenized U.S. Treasuries fund, launched on the BNB Chain.
The fund is backed by real U.S. Treasuries and powered by Securitize, a top tokenization platform. Together, they bring both credibility and innovative tech to the table.

The Maxwell Hardfork
BNB Chain’s future plans include even faster processing. In June 2025, it will activate the Maxwell hardfork, which cuts block times to just 0.75 seconds.
That’s a big leap from April’s Lorentz update, which already halved block time to 1.5 seconds. With Maxwell, transaction finality can be achieved in just 1.875 seconds.
