VeChain is reportedly planning to launch a new payment card that combines blockchain-based rewards with everyday spending.
Dubbed the B3TR debit card, the card will allow users to pay for everyday items such as groceries and clothing using the B3TR token.
Popular VET investor Sebastian Rok shared the initiative today, noting that the VeChain Foundation has confirmed the ongoing development of the B3TR debit card.

Features of B3TR Debit Card
According to Sebastian, the card eliminates off-ramp friction and intermediaries while enabling a tap-and-pay experience. For context, B3TR is a reward token for the VeBetterDAO ecosystem. The system uses it to incentivize users to engage in sustainable actions like learning, walking, recycling, community services, and meditation.
Essentially, the debit card bridges the gap between Web2 and Web3 by merging the digital token economy with traditional spending. This way, users can engage in certain activities to earn points, which are paid in B3TR tokens and can later be used for everyday purchases through the upcoming debit card.
Notably, Sebastian expects the card to give B3TR actual monetary utility, onboard non-crypto users, and enhance the overall adoption of projects within the VeBetterDAO ecosystem.
Further, the investor speculated that the B3TR debit card would foster adoption among three user groups: merchants, Web3 skeptics, and impact seekers.
Conclusively, Sebastien emphasized that the card would give B3TR tokens real-world value while reinforcing VeChain’s vision of rewarding positive behavior.
In the meantime, the VeChain Foundation has not issued a public statement confirming the upcoming launch of the B3TR debit card.
Bybit Lists B3TR
Meanwhile, Sebastian’s commentary comes a few days after Bybit, the world’s second-biggest crypto exchange by daily volume, listed the B3TR token for trading. Currently, B3TR is listed on Bybit under two trading pairs–B3TR/USDT and B3TR/USDC.
B3TR is trading at $0.2143 per token, marking a decline of 5.74% over the past 24 hours. The token ranks as the 3,205th biggest cryptocurrency on CoinMarketCap, with a valuation of $40.56 million. Its volume has soared 19.53% over the past day to $15.17 million.
