Unichain’s TVL records $267m milestone
Since its formal establishment in February 2025, Unichain, an Ethereum Layer-2 network (powered by UniSwap), did not experience remarkable market activity at first time. This coincided with the broader crypto market moving into a consolidation period, and a result, Unichain’s trading activity was silent.
However, this drown out did not continue for long. On April 15 2025, after Unichain rolled out a $5 million incentive program, its multi-chain activities warmed up considerably. Just within 24 hours, 11 wallet addresses collectively invested assets valued at $22.23 million into the platform.
The impact of this unexpected funds’ inflow activity was swift. Unichain’s TVL experienced a gigantic rise after April 15, surging from $9 million to $267 million in two days. This increase enabled it to rapidly climb to the fourth position among all Layer-2 networks in terms of TVL, as per DefiLlama data. Most of the inflows moved into v4 pools, which currently holds more than 6% of UniSwap’s total TVL.
Will Unichain sustain growth?
The liquidity incentive campaign has proved to be significant booster to Unchain’s TVL growth. UniSwap is now witnessing impressive success on its Unichain network, a protocol that is positioning itself as a decentralized, high-speed Layer-2 solution for multi-chain liquidity and DeFi.
As of April 16, metrics from Unichain’s platform indicates that the network has handled over 20 million transactions and currently has over 371,000 wallet addressees. Apart from this, during its testnet period, the network processed 95 million transactions and deployed 14.7 million smart contracts.
So far, the network has obtained support from multiple industry big players since its launch. Almost 100 cryptocurrency projects and blockchain infrastructure providers have announced willingness to develop on top of Unchain, including Coinbase, Circle, Compound, Venus, Stargate, DyorSwap, Morpho, Lido, and others.
