The team behind Shiba Inu metaverse project, SHIB: The Metaverse, has introduced a mini-game centered around fishing.
In an X post on Monday, Shiba Inu’s Marketing Lead, Lucie, highlighted the game, calling the community’s attention to the fishing game set to launch in SHIB: The Metaverse.
She emphasized that the game’s purpose is not just for recreational activity but serves as the foundation of a broader in-game economy within the metaverse project.
Notably, it requires players to utilize precision and skills to progress through different ranks and eventually become master anglers.
Features of SHIB: The Metaverse Fishing Game
The mini-game boasts several impressive features to enhance players’ gaming experience.
For instance, players can collect and trade in-game currency. While these digital assets lack value in the crypto market, they are valuable within SHIB: The Metaverse.
Also, players can unlock new abilities as they progress in the game and enhance their fishing skills. Interestingly, the game has an inventory system that allows players to manage their catch.
Furthermore, players can also hunt for unique and exclusive fish or items during gameplay, with special rewards attached to this activity. Finally, the team will announce special perks for SHIB: The Metaverse landowners.
At the moment, the game has not yet gone live. Upon its launch, TREAT holders will get early access to the game.
These players will be rewarded with premium fishing locations and rewards before non-TREAT holders gain access. The team has not announced an official date for the early access.
Shiba Inu Enhances Users Metaverse Experience
Notably, the fishing game is part of efforts to boost users’ experience within the Shiba Inu metaverse project. It also serves as the foundation for developing a thriving in-game economy for SHIB: The Metaverse.
Recall that the early access for Shiba Inu’s metaverse project went live in December 2024. Ever since, the team has been enhancing the project into an interactive digital platform featuring Parkour challenges and breathtaking landscapes. It now plans to introduce an in-game economy to the metaverse through a fishing game.
While Shiba Inu has other ecosystem games, including Shiba Eternity and Agent Shiboshi, the fishing game will be the first to launch directly in SHIB: The Metaverse.
