Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, continues to make altcoin announcements. This time, Binance stated that it has added five more altcoins to its watchlist.
Binance announced it will expand its Watch Tag to include the altcoins Moonbeam (GLMR), ICON (ICX), Moonriver (MOVR), SuperRare (RARE), and Sophon (SOPH).
“Based on recent assessments, Binance will expand its Tracking Tag to include more tokens and will introduce Tracking Tags for select tokens on August 11, 2026.”
The following altcoins will be added to the Izeme Tag list: GLMR, MOVR, ICX, RARE, and SOPH.
Binance recently issued a warning to investors: “Tokens with a Watch Tag exhibit significantly higher volatility and risk compared to other listed tokens. These tokens are closely monitored and regularly reviewed. Please note that tokens with a Watch Tag risk no longer meeting our listing criteria and being delisted from the platform.”
Among these altcoins, Moonriver (MOVR) stood out with its performance during the 2021 cryptocurrency bull market and became one of the popular altcoins of that period.
SuperRare (RARE) was another token that particularly benefited from the NFT craze of 2021. ICON (ICX), an older project, stood out during the 2017-2018 cryptocurrency rally with a significant surge. A South Korean blockchain project, ICX was also referred to as the “Korean Ethereum.”
Following Binance’s announcement, altcoin prices experienced drops of around 10%.
