K9 Finance announced that it has received a $200,000 grant from the Google for Startups program. According to the announcement, the grant comes in the form of free access to Google Cloud services, rather than direct cash. With the grant, the K9 development team can access Google Cloud infrastructure, security features, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools at zero cost.
In addition to accessing Google Cloud services at zero cost, the team suggested that the grant will strengthen its long-term position by creating opportunities for partnerships, sustainability, and integration. Additionally, it called the grant an opportunity to position K9 Finance as an important force in Shibarium and the broader crypto ecosystem. As expected, Shiba Inu’s head of marketing, Lucie, posted a celebratory reaction to the $200,000 Google grant awarded to K9 Finance. She called the grant a huge milestone given the opportunities that come with the support.
K9 Finance remains Shiba Inu’s official liquid staking partner. It allows users to stake BONE through its Bonecrusher decentralized application (dApp), keeping their tokens liquid. K9 boasts a total value locked (TVL) of $562,035, according to DeFiLlama data. This is down 75.24% from its peak TVL of $2.27 million on December 12, 2024.
