The team behind the Shiba Inu ecosystem has stirred excitement within the SHIB community following its recent tweet.
On February 12, the official Shiba Inu X account conveyed a sentiment of warmth through a post, stating “love is in the air,” accompanied by two static pink heart emojis. Notably, the team complemented this message with a gif depicting a sizable Shiba Inu with two adorable puppies.

The tweet was seen as Shiba Inu’s way of marking Valentine’s Day. Interestingly, Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous lead developer shared a similar message on the official Telegram group of its Layer-2 scaling solution, Shibarium.
In the Telegram post, Kusama affirmed, “love is in the air.” He further urged Shiba Inu community members to prepare their hearts and wallets.
With SHIB enthusiasts struggling to decode the meaning behind Kusama’s “prepare your heart (and wallet)” message, the lead developer provided further hints via his X handle.
He noted, “Single Shiboshi is looking for new love,” accompanied by a heart emoji. Kusama later had an exchange with the official X account of Shiboshi, Shiba Inu’s non-fungible token (NFT), regarding Valentine’s Day.
During the exchange, the Shiboshi X account told Kusama that the NFT was on its way while asking for location details.
Shiba Inu Community Reacts
The convo stirred reactions within the Shiba Inu community, as many predicted that the team could be planning to airdrop Shiboshis to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Reacting, Shiba Inu ecosystem marketing lead Lucie issues a critical warning, urging Shiboshi holders to join the digital asset’s official Discord channel.
She cautioned them against engaging in “surprise airdrops or unexpected claims.” Her warning is part of an effort to protect members from falling prey to scammers amid the growing speculations of a possible airdrop.

Following Lucie’s message, it is unclear whether the Shiba Inu ecosystem team will announce an airdrop to commemorate Valentine’s Day.

Meanwhile, Kusama’s location marker on the X platform has continued to change to different cities. In recent times, his location marker has changed from Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai to El Salvador.
In the hours leading up to press time, the marker suggests that Kusama is in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar.

As Kusama’s location marker on X changes, some SHIB enthusiasts suggest that the lead developer could be traveling to various cities to collaborate with industry experts for the good of the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
