Shiba Inu leader Shytoshi Kusama has reached out to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, expressing a strong desire for a conversation to drive SHIB adoption globally.
Kusama is not relenting in his quest to discuss with the Ethereum co-founder as he makes a fresh request for a conversation. The Shiba Inu leader made the request over the weekend in reaction to a post from Buterin regarding ongoing changes to the Ethereum Foundation leadership structure.
Ethereum Foundation Will Remain Neutral in Crypto Lobbying Efforts: Buterin
In the X post, Buterin revealed that the leadership restructuring has been ongoing over the past year. He explained that the restructuring goals include improving technical expertise within the foundation’s leadership.
Additionally, the goals involve enhancing communication between the foundation leadership and ecosystem actors. The restructuring also aims to bring in fresh talent, increase support for app developers, and improve execution speed.
Interestingly, Buterin clarified that the foundation does not plan to shift its ideological stance. It will remain neutral in lobbying regulators and political figures. The foundation will not become a platform for vested interests, nor will it play the role of a central actor within the Ethereum ecosystem.
He emphasized that the Ethereum Foundation will remain a neutral and decentralized entity while urging those with different visions to create their own organization.
Shiba Inu Reacts to Buterin’s Message
Buterin’s post elicited reactions among crypto enthusiasts, with top stakeholders sharing their opinions. The post, viewed 6.7 million times on X, has attracted over 5,600 comments and 18,000 likes.
Notably, Shiba Inu’s Kusama was among the top crypto stakeholders who commented. However, he deviated from the main message to request a dialogue with the Ethereum co-founder.
In his post, Kusama highlighted Shiba Inu’s achievements to showcase its potential and success. In particular, he noted that SHIB is the number one altcoin on Ethereum, adding that its Layer-2 solution, which was built on Ethereum, has processed over 800 million transactions.
Kusama Seeks Global Adoption for Shiba Inu
Furthermore, Kusama emphasized that the Shiba Inu community aims to discuss with Buterin and the Ethereum Foundation to gain their support in achieving true global adoption for SHIB. Kusama suggested that he would like this conversation to take place in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, in a follow-up tweet, the Shiba Inu leader expressed frustration with Buterin’s refusal to respond to his request. He emphasized that despite receiving over 200 responses, the Ethereum co-founder has yet to respond.

Past Efforts to Discuss with Buterin
It bears mentioning that Kusama has reached out to Buterin multiple times for a conversation. He made a request on November 1, 2024, after Buterin claimed Dogecoin (DOGE) deserves to be the second-biggest cryptocurrency globally.
This infuriated SHIB enthusiasts, with Kusama asking the Ethereum co-founder for an opportunity to showcase Shiba Inu’s potential in a 10-minute pitch. A week later, Kusama made another request for a conversation, asking Buterin whether the 10-minute discussion would happen anytime soon.
Despite Buterin ignoring these requests, Shiba Inu community members have been resilient in trying to gain his attention. Kusama has once again made another request to converse with Buterin. This time, he needs his support and that of the Ethereum Foundation to achieve true global adoption for Shiba Inu.
Kusama Envisions SHIB Hitting $1T Market Cap
Kusama’s push for global adoption is imperative to propel Shiba Inu to a market cap of $1 trillion, which he believes will happen someday. Recall that the Shiba Inu leader made the $1 trillion projection last year. At the time, he revealed plans to make Shiba Inu the first trillion-dollar decentralized entity in the world.
Last week, he issued a similar forecast, asserting that many will be surprised when SHIB potentially hits a market cap of $1 trillion. At this valuation, Shiba Inu could rival Ethereum, especially if ETH fails to see a comparable price surge.
