Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama expresses enthusiasm for the rebranding of Shiba Eternity’s official X handle.
In an X post yesterday, @ShibaEternity disclosed that it has evolved to @PlayWithShib to focus on the Shiba Inu gaming community. The handlers of the rebranded Shiba Eternity X account urged Shiba Inu gamers to follow the account for more updates relating to Shiba Inu games.
Shiba Inu Lead Reacts
Reacting, Shiba Inu’s lead developer characterized the rebranding as an epic move, indicating that the evolution is a positive development. He expressed excitement about the initiative using the phrase “Games Galore and more! LFG.”
For context, the Shiba Inu ecosystem team created @ShibaEternity (now PlayWithShib) in July 2022. At the time, the X account focused on the Shiba Eternity game, which initially launched in October 2022. Four months after Shiba Eternity’s mobile launch, the account became inactive for over a year and broke its silence on July 16, 2024.
Since resuming activities on X, the account has announced the commencement of Shiba Eternity closed beta testing, among other things.
Reason Behind the Rebranding
Meanwhile, the team plans to expand the Shiba Inu gaming ecosystem beyond Shiba Eternity. Angel, the lead of Shiba Inu Games, revealed the development in June, emphasizing that the move would connect developers, creators, and gamers on Shibarium.
Some of the Shib Games include Agent Shiboshi and Shiboshi Rush. The team recently launched Agent Shiboshi for Android users, with the iOS version expected to be released soon.

With the team planning to launch more games, it decided to rebrand Shiba Eternity’s X account to focus on the cryptocurrency’s overall gaming ecosystem. This allows it to share all Shib Games’ updates from one account instead of creating separate handles for each game.
In the meantime, the Shibarium version of Shiba Eternity is still in closed beta testing. Gamers who wish to participate in the closed beta are required to stake their LEASH tokens on ShibaSwap.
