Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has proposed a very simple strategy for those looking to invest long-term in the cryptocurrency market. According to Garlinghouse, investors could buy the five largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization and hold them for the next five years.
In evaluating this strategy, Garlinghouse stated that such an approach could yield “great results” for investors.
What are the Top Five Cryptocurrencies?
The basket that Garlinghouse refers to consists of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether (USDT), BNB, and $XRP, ranked according to their current market capitalization.
One of the notable points on the list is the inclusion of $XRP in the top five. While $XRP is the token of the Ripple ecosystem, Garlinghouse had previously stated that he did not define himself as an “$XRP maximalist.”
Positive Opinion for Solana Too!
Solana also held a significant place in Garlinghouse’s assessments. When asked why an investor should prefer $XRP over Solana, Garlinghouse stated that he wasn’t trying to convince anyone to choose one over the other.
He even revealed that he himself owns a small amount of Solana and that he has a positive view not only of $XRP but also of various cryptocurrencies for different reasons.
However, for various reasons, he stated that he does not see Solana as a direct competitor to $XRP and that different crypto projects can be successful simultaneously.
