Since the start of 2024, only 42 coins have managed to outperform Bitcoin (BTC) among the top 300 coins on CoinMarketCap. In a year where Bitcoin has maintained its dominance, a surprising number of tokens that have outperformed BTC belong to the Memecoin category, with 11 of the top 15 coins falling into this group.
The data reveals that among the top performers, one memecoin, POPCAT (POPCAT), led the way with an impressive 7,552% gain. Other memecoins like MOG, NPC, and MAGA also saw significant year-to-date growth, with gains of 2,206%, 1,163%, and 1,129%, respectively. Also in the top 15 list is WIF, which is up 976%, and TURBO, which is up 931%.
This report shows that 20 of the top-performing tokens were listed on Binance in the last year or earlier, and five more are listed on Binance in 2024.
