While more established NFT projects continue to dominate the NFT markets in terms of activity and valuations, there’s a constant stream of new NFT projects that are trying to stake their claim in the NFT sector.

In this article, we will be highlighting the best new NFT projects that could gain in popularity and reach higher valuations in the future. We limited this list to projects that had their launch in 2023 and 2024. Most of the NFT projects on our list are profile picture or “PFP” NFT collections, as this genre of NFTs has broad appeal and has been the most successful so far.

Before we start, you should keep in mind that investing in NFTs is risky, and this is especially true when it comes to new NFT projects that haven’t yet had the opportunity to establish a long track record.

List of the best new NFT projects in 2024:

  1. Crypto Robots City – New NFT project with staking and airdrop rewards
  2. GamifAI – Gaming ordinals on the Bitcoin network
  3. Nakamigos – A CryptoPunks-inspired collection with significant hype
  4. HV-MTL – Dynamic NFTs from BAYC creators Yuga Labs
  5. Outlaws – Wild West-inspired NFTs with a distinct visual style
  6. Saved Souls – An NFT collection with an emphasis on community and gamification
  7. a KID called BEAST – An NFT collection powering a web3 brand
  8. Checks – An NFT collection with unique minting and burning mechanics

The best new NFT projects in 2024

If you’re not sure how to get started with NFTs, check out our NFT crash course, which will quickly explain all the key concepts you need to know to start collecting and trading NFTs. If you already know all the basics, let’s get started with showcasing the best new NFT projects and upcoming NFT projects in 2024.

1. Crypto Robots City – New NFT project with staking and airdrop rewards

Crypto Robots City is a new NFT project that features 1565 unique collectibles in a vintage anime style. The collection will be minted on Polygon, which is a fast blockchain network boasting low transaction fees, which is one of the most important things when it comes to NFTs. Crypto Robots City can be traded on NFT marketplaces that support Polygon and/or Ethereum networks.

A unique aspect of the Crypto Robots City project is the ability to stake NFTs in a dedicated application. Users can earn passive income by staking their NFTs. In addition, users who mint Crypto Robots City NFTs can look forward to a CRC token airdrop, which will distribute 100 million CRC tokens among NFT holders.

At the moment, the project is promising to distribute 2000 CRC tokens for each NFT during Season 1. If you are interested in investing in Crypto Robot NFTs, circle July 30, 2024, on your calendar, as that is the expected mint date.

2. GamifAI – Gaming ordinals on the Bitcoin network

GamifAI is a gaming project leveraging the technological ability of Bitcoin ordinals, which are digital asset inscriptions on the Bitcoin blockchain. The information is attached to individual satoshis, the lowest denomination of Bitcoin. In practice, Bitcoin ordinals are similar to NFTs on Ethereum and other networks, but they don’t use the same approach to store information on the blockchain.

GamifAI pioneers the use of Bitcoin ordinals in user-generated gaming, allowing creators to design, generate, and mint games directly to the Bitcoin blockchain. The project is merging Bitcoin’s security with cutting-edge technology, creating a unique ecosystem where users can mint gaming-focused ordinals.

The project’s vision is to allow anyone to host games on the Bitcoin network and play them on Magic Eden and similar platforms. At the moment, the exact timeline for when the project will go live is not set. But it seems that the launch is possible later this year, so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on what GamifAI does next.

3. Nakamigos – A CryptoPunks-inspired collection with significant hype

Nakamigos is an NFT project that launched in March 2023 with a public mint. The collection saw a surge of trading activity immediately after its launch, quickly grabbing the attention of the NFT community and becoming one of the most hyped NFT projects at the moment.

During minting, Nakamigos were sold through a Dutch auction with a starting price of 1 ETH and a lower bound of 0.01 ETH. At the time of writing, the collection has a floor price of 0.62 ETH and is the 5th-ranked collection on OpenSea in terms of weekly trading volume.

The Nakamigos NFT collection consists of 20,000 avatars in a simple pixel art style that’s reminiscent of CryptoPunks. The avatars are 24 by 24 pixels, which is the same format as CryptoPunks. The project was created by HiFo Labs, a company that’s relatively unknown but claims its team members have been involved in the NFT space for the past five years.

Most avatars in the Nakamigos collection depict human characters. However, there are also non-human Nakamigos, which are rarer. The rarest type of Nakamigo is the ghost type.

Unlike many other NFT projects, Nakamigos doesn’t have a roadmap or any special perks for holders. However, Nakamigos holders do have commercial rights over their NFTs, So far, the team has taken a mostly hands-off approach similar to what Larva Labs did with CryptoPunks before the intellectual property was acquired by Yuga Labs.

4. HV-MTL – Dynamic NFTs from BAYC creators Yuga Labs

HV-MTL (Heavy Metal) is an NFT collection created by Yuga Labs, the most prominent company in the NFT space. The HV-MTL collection, which is part of the Bored Ape Yacht Club universe, consists of 30,000 NFTs representing machines that have entered the world through a rift in space-time.

HV-MTL are designed as dynamic NFTs, which change in appearance and gains new skills and roles as they evolve based on their owner’s decisions. Owners will be able to use their HV-MTL NFTs in the HV-MTL Forge, in which they will be able to create and customize a workshop to prepare their HV-MTLs for their evolution.

There’s 8 different types of HV-MTL machines—Glitch, Dynamic, Bio, Knight, Celestial, Reaver, Holo and Legendary (ranked in order of rarity). The Holo and Legendary HV-MTL machines are extremely rare, as there’s only 248 Holo HV-MTLs and only one Legendary.

As with any NFT collection coming out from Yuga Labs, HV-MTL has attracted quite a bit of interest in the NFT community. With key developments related to HV-MTL scheduled to come out shortly, this collection is certainly worth watching closely and could be one of the best NFT projects moving forward.

5. Outlaws – Wild West-inspired NFTs with a distinct visual style

Outlaws is an NFT collection inspired by the Wild West. The collection consists of 10,000 avatars featuring a profile shot of cowboy characters. In addition, the project aims to release a series of custom Honorary NFTs which will be given to prominent members of the crypto community.

The Outlaws collection features a distinctive artistic style and color palettes which makes it stand out from most other new NFT projects. The avatars were generated algorithmically, with the algorithm randomly selecting from a pool of over 140 traits to make each Outlaws NFT unique.

The minting process for Outlaws NFTs started on April 12, when whitelisted users could mint an Outlaws NFT at a price of 0.04 ETH. This was followed by a public mint, during which anyone could mint an Outlaws NFT for 0.05 ETH. At the time of writing, the floor price of the collection on OpenSea is 0.18 ETH ahead of the reveal, when each holder will be able to see the avatar they got.

6. Saved Souls – An NFT collection with an emphasis on community and gamification

Saved Souls is an NFT collection which had its mint in April 2023. Each user was able to mint one Saved Souls NFT for free, with subsequent mints costing 0.009 ETH. The project has a prominent nautical theme and emphasizes exploration and adventure.

The Saved Souls collection is a PFP NFT collection in the vein of Bored Ape Yacht Club. The avatars are generated algorithmically and randomly adorned with traits of various rarities.

The project says it is working on gamification features for holders of Saved Souls NFTs. For example, holders can earn achievements for reaching certain milestones and community members are currently working to unlock the map of the Saved Souls world.

7. a KID called BEAST – An NFT collection powering a web3 brand

A KID called BEAST (AKCB) is an NFT collection that launched in January of 2023. The collection consists of 10,000 3D characters that are designed for use in 3D virtual worlds and augmented reality.

The collection contains 20 different “beasthoods”, which are essentially different types of characters in the AKCB world. There’s 500 NFTs for each of the 20 beasthoods.

The AKCB project is trying to position itself as a web3 brand that’s aiming to have a presence both in the metaverse and in the physical world through collaborations with fashion brands, musicians and other players with cultural significance.

The AKCB collection has gained quite a bit of traction, and has a floor price of about 0.74 ETH on OpenSea.

8. Checks – An NFT collection with unique minting and burning mechanics

Checks is an NFT collection minted in January 2023. The collection is inspired by the concept of Twitter’s verification checkmark, which used to denote that the account owner was a notable individual or organization, but was later changed to simply reflect that the account owner purchased a subscription to Twitter’s premium service.

The Checks collection is split into Editions, which are mutable, and Originals, which are immutable. Edition Checks can be migrated to Original Checks at any time, although the corresponding Edition version is burned (destroyed) in the process. Originals can have a number of different characteristics, which impact their composition, color scheme, color gradients, the number of checks on the artwork, and more.

Checks NFTs were created by Jack Butcher, who is known for his company Visualize Value, a platform that provides courses on sales and growing companies while explaining complex concepts with intuitive visuals.

The bottom line — There’s a constant influx of new NFT projects, but not all are worth your attention

The NFT space can be quite lucrative, so it’s not surprising that dozens of NFT projects are flooding the market every day. However, many NFT collections that are being released today are of low quality. It’s common to see NFT collections with lazy art direction, a lack of a coherent vision, or unrealistic promises. Such projects are usually just looking for a quick cash grab and aren’t worth your time.

However, if you’re willing to separate the wheat from the chaff, you can find quite a few interesting new NFT projects that could turn out to be successful and become one of the best NFTs to buy. Hopefully, our article has helped you identify a few projects that are worth exploring. Since these projects are new, they have a relatively low floor price, which makes them more accessible to all kinds of NFT investors and collectors.

If you’re interested in other NFTs with a low price, check out our list of the best cheap NFT projects with potential.
