The XRP Ledger may be on the brink of a new era as Mayukha Vadari, Senior Software Engineer at RippleX, teases a slew of exciting new features coming shortly to XRP Ledger.
In a recent X post, Vadari highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance XRPL’s functionality through various development and testing networks, allowing even nondevelopers to contribute meaningfully.

Vadari defined three main categories of testing/development networks for the XRPL: The first is Testnet (capital T) with activated amendments mirroring the XRPL mainnet. The second is Devnet (capital D), where all amendments that are finished but either waiting to be released or voted in are activated.
devnet (lowercase d) refers to networks that are spun up for early testing on major upcoming features (such as NFT and AMM). These networks usually get shut down whenever the code has been finished and released in a beta version of Rippled (and can therefore go live on Devnet instead).
Vadari added that the main objective of all types of Devnets is to provide a place for potential amendment users to experiment with a new feature or work on full integration. They can provide feedback on their experiences using these amendments, which may result in improvements to the amendment before it goes live.
Slew of features anticipated
Vadari outlined some “heavily anticipated” XRPL features currently being tested, including the Batch Amendment for the XRP Ledger available on BatchNet. This includes the ability to batch transactions using the XLS-56d specification and supports all transaction types, with a limit of eight. The amendment also supports atomic swaps.
The Account Permission Delegation is also live on Devnet along with MPTs (multipurpose tokens), credentials, permissioned domains and dynamic NFTs, which have already been released for validator voting and are available for experimentation on Devnet.
The Smart Escrows with WASM (WebAssembly) are being tested on WASM Devnet.
