It serves three basic functions:-
- Stability & integrity via dynamic availability plus fork resolution
- Tracing Slot Commitment Chains to the Genesis Block to sync Tangle
- Executing Finality at the same level
It has a basic structure that is based on the fundamentals of the block header of a blockchain. The node-issued block contains Slot Commitment, which has all the details about the slot. It further references the previous slot to create a chain.
Slot Commitment Chains have been called the future of decentralization. According to IOTA, its dependability and scalability make it a crucial step for the entire decentralized network. IOTA has also termed it an innovative technology, adding that it helps provide a consistent and secure ledger state.
The announcement has most likely affected the trading price of IOTA, taking the token to $0.1603, with a jump of 1.92% in the last 24 hours. The value also signifies an increase of 3.94% in the last 7 days. IOTA future estimates that the token has the potential to touch a maximum value of $0.39 by the end of this year.
