Earlier this year, IOTA announced the introduction of the Business Innovation Program (BIP) as part of its plans to support organizations working on real-world solutions. On May 14, IOTA unveiled its first group of participants, consisting of three organizations that are already using the platform to solve global problems in the areas of digital identity, product data integrity, and sustainability.
Orobo is one of the first three participants selected for the BIP. Orobo is building infrastructure that meets Europe’s future sustainability requirements. The company is known for its Digital Product Passport platform, which helps manufacturers track the entire lifecycle of a product. Orobo is expected to use the IOTA mainnet and various IOTA products, including Identity, Gas Station, Explorer, and Custom Move Contracts.
Impierce Technologies is one of three participants selected for the BIP. Its innovations are aimed at solving problems in education, e-commerce, and logistics. Impierce Technologies will use IOTA Mainnet, IOTA Identity, and IOTA Gas Station in its initiative. ObjectID is the third and final member of the BIP. Unlike the others, it will provide a long-term solution to problems in three key areas: improving traceability from origin to delivery in the food and pharmaceutical industries; providing customers with confidence and transparency in the luxury resale market; and ensuring accountability in global supply chains in the manufacturing sector.
