Introducing Season 2 of IOTA Grants

Fueling Web3 Innovation and Empowering Builders

TL;DR:
The IOTA Ecosystem DLT Foundation stays committed to building and supporting a thriving ecosystem. Focused on driving real-world adoption, advancing the upcoming IOTA Rebased network, and expanding our EVM ecosystem, IOTA Grants Season 2 is now live, offering up to $10M in funding for passionate builders and innovative projects.

At IOTA, we’re committed to building an ecosystem that not only thrives but endures. A vital component of achieving this vision lies in empowering builders, projects, innovators, and pioneers – the driving forces behind any successful Web3 ecosystem. After all, turning an idea into a working product requires strong dedication, effort, strategy, and time. That’s why we’re here to support you on this journey.

Our mission is to empower every builder, regardless of their focus or scale, with the resources and guidance needed to thrive. Whether you’re accelerating adoption through real-world applications, planning to utilize our EVM framework, or shaping the future of the IOTA Rebased network, our grants are designed to foster innovation and creativity across the entire spectrum.

With that, we’re excited to announce that Season 2 of IOTA Grants is officially underway – offering a total funding pool of $10M!

Before diving into the details of the second season, let’s reflect on the successful conclusion of Season 1. The first season proved highly productive, bringing exceptional talent and innovation into the IOTA ecosystem. In fact, it was so successful that we had to temporarily pause the process to manage the overwhelming number of applications.

Here’s an overview of Season 1 so far:

  • Applications received: 144
  • Grants Awarded: 32
  • Total Granted: $3,479,000

Grant Categories

Similar to the first season of IOTA Grants, the primary focus areas remain Open-Source Development, Education, and Events. Each of these focus areas plays a vital role in fostering a thriving and sustainable ecosystem. By looking for innovators and projects building in these specific areas, we’re ensuring IOTA’s ecosystem covers all bases in Web3 development, we aim to ensure that IOTA remains a hub of innovation for all things Web3.

  • Open-Source Development: Projects that support the creation and enhancement of applications, utilities, tools, libraries, and public goods.
  • Education: Projects that overcome the gap between multi-layered technology and user-friendly experience to educate users.
  • Events: Projects that facilitate community get-togethers, hackathons, and workshops

You can find more information about IOTA Grants Season 2 on the website.

Guidelines for Grants

The allocation of grants is guided by transparent funding guidelines, available on the Grants website. These ensure that only projects that align with the objectives of IOTA Grants and have the potential to make a positive impact within the IOTA ecosystem are supported.

Applying for IOTA Grants couldn’t be more straightforward. Just fill out the application form, and participate in an interview with the IOTA Grant Committee, which consists of IOTA Foundation members and which will evaluate your application.

The IOTA Grant Committee will assess your application based on the following criteria: Funding Guidelines Fit, Scalability, Usefulness, Safety, Expertise of Grantee, and Long-Term Viability. Once again, the IOTA Grants website has detailed descriptions of each criteria.

The evaluation process ensures that all applications are rated on the same scale and that funds are allocated to projects with the greatest potential to make an impact.

As we look forward to repeating the great success of the first season of IOTA Grants, we encourage all innovators, developers, and creators to seize this opportunity. Your ideas have the power to drive positive change in the ecosystem, and the IOTA Ecosystem DLT Foundation is here to support you.

If you’re looking for support to bring your idea or project to life, visit our website for more information or apply directly here.
