As XRP hovers around $2 amid consecutive weekly declines, community members urge each other to seize the opportunity and consolidate their holdings.
XRP is down by 13% over the past week as it trades at $2.08. The price dip has persisted since January, but enthusiasts believe a turnaround is imminent. To encourage more accumulation, community figures often highlight the relatively small amount of tokens investors need to hold to rank among the “richest” XRP holders.
Becoming a Top 10%, 5%, or 1% XRP Holder
Notably, the latest statistics from the XRP Rich List show that crypto investors only need to hold 2,501 XRP to be among the top 10% of XRP holders. Acquiring this portfolio requires an investment of about $5,227.
However, to become one of the top 5% of XRP investors, one only needs to hold 9,003 tokens. Currently, only 316,880 accounts have this much XRP. Joining this rank requires an investment of up to $19,000.
As for the lofty top 1%, it requires a more significant capital investment. The top 1% of XRP investors have balances above 52,030 tokens, which costs around $108,742. Notably, only 63,376 wallets meet this requirement.
Given this relatively low entry barrier to the XRP Rich List, prominent community figures continue urging enthusiasts to join the ranks of the top holders. They see the threshold as prestigious. Meanwhile, joining the ranks of top XRP holders could hold a psychological significance.
Overview of the XRP Holder Spectrum
For context, there are 6,337,602 wallets holding XRP. However, the overwhelming majority hold fewer than 500 tokens, while a few wallets hold the largest concentration of XRP.
In particular, 2.614 million accounts hold only 20 XRP tokens, with their cumulative holding totaling 23.17 million XRP. Meanwhile, about 2.517 million wallets hold between 20 and 500 XRP, collectively amounting to 204.174 million tokens. On the other hand, fewer than 30 wallets hold over 20 billion XRP tokens.
As a result, joining the ranks of the top XRP holders requires just a few thousand tokens, as many wallets hold much lower amounts.

Community figures like Edoardo Farina, who frequently talk about joining the XRP top holders list, often cite hypothetical XRP price projections as a significant reason.
In his view, those with at least 2,501 XRP holdings stand a better chance of financial success should XRP reach prices like $100 per token. In this scenario, 2,501 XRP ($5,227 today) would be worth $250,100.
Meanwhile, prediction platforms like Changelly and Telegaon have argued that XRP could take more than a decade to reach $100. However, popular projections in the community suggest XRP could reach $100 even this year. Nonetheless, this remains hypothetical.
