Hedera Expands Role in Machine Trust as WISeSat.Space Satellite Prepares for Launch

  • WISeSat.Space satellite launch adds post-quantum identity support for IoT devices worldwide.
  • Hedera provides proof audit logs and low-cost transfers for automated device activity.

SEALSQcorp, a subsidiary of WISeKey, is preparing to launch an upgraded WISeSat.Space satellite on November 19 through SpaceX. The program pushes forward machine identity for connected devices worldwide by pairing space-based broadcasts with hardware-level identification.

Hedera Hashgraph serves as the trust layer anchoring identity states for large-scale automated interactions across networks.

SEALSQ deploys the QS1 chip to establish device identity at the silicon level. The chip creates unforgeable identifiers, secures keys inside a protected element, and supports algorithms intended to endure post-quantum threats. This hardware-based identity approach blocks tampering and protects connected devices at scale across the globe.

Public verification can be achieved through decentralized identifiers (DIDs) and verifiable credentials (VCs). These standards allow identity proof without exposing private keys. This approach provides a unified method for authenticating connected devices across regions, enabling networks to establish a consistent, secure way to verify trust.

WISeSat.Space Connecting Devices Across Earth

WISeSat.Space extends identity delivery beyond ground networks. The service broadcasts updates across continents, supports device enrollment in remote zones, and enables continuous state synchronization. The network provides global availability for connected equipment with limited terrestrial access.

Satellite links allow secure machine-to-machine messages, giving industrial operators, public agencies, and energy systems the ability to verify device identity in real time. As billions of connected units join communication networks, the demand for stronger identification grows.

After verification, devices start automated swaps that handle data transfers, access signals, supply chain syncing, and power distribution. Usage-based services and bandwidth payments rely on identity records stored in immutable audit layers.

Hedera’s Role in Machine-Driven Transactions

Hedera Hashgraph enters this structure as the trust foundation for machine communication. Acting as the distributed verification layer, the blockchain anchors all identity states and audit records. Its consensus service produces time-stamped proofs, ensuring that every transaction between machines remains verifiable, immutable, and low-cost.

SEALCOIN, a digital transaction layer built on Hedera, powers the exchange between devices. This setup supports automated payments, data access permissions, supply chain signaling, and pay-per-use services. With Hedera’s high throughput and fractional transaction fees, machine-to-machine payments can occur instantly and securely at scale.

The partnership brings together secure identity, satellite coverage, and a public ledger. Each layer supports safe machine interaction across borders. Hedera functions as the trust layer, confirmed in the statement

Hedera is not for speculation —Hedera is for machine trust.
