Telegram-based tap-to-earn (T2E) game Hamster Kombat announced the launch of its Hamster Network on February 25.
The gaming-focused Layer-2 (L2) blockchain is built on The Open Network (TON).
Hamster Kombat Unveils Its L2 Blockchain
The announcement marks a significant milestone in blockchain gaming, with Hamster Network emerging as the first L2 solution specifically tailored for gaming within the TON ecosystem. Hamster Kombat intended to provide a highly scalable and low-cost infrastructure for decentralized gaming applications.
According to the statement on X (Twitter), it would leverage TON’s technology to enhance Web3 gaming experiences. Hamster Kombat also expressed enthusiasm for the launch, emphasizing its partnership with TON to realize this vision.

TON Virtual Machine powers Hamster Network, ensuring compatibility with The Open Network’s existing smart contracts. This seamless integration enables developers to port their decentralized applications (dApps) onto the Hamster Network without significant modifications.
Moreover, all proof records generated by Hamster Network are posted to TON’s Layer-1 blockchain, guaranteeing security and decentralization. The infrastructure is reportedly operational, featuring an integrated wallet, a canonical bridge, and a dedicated decentralized exchange (DEX). Multiple developers will actively build new gaming experiences on the platform.
The launch of Hamster Network follows earlier reports, hinting at plans to introduce an exclusive L2 blockchain on TON. The crypto and gaming communities have greeted the project with excitement.

The launch of Hamster Network aligns with Telegram’s deepening involvement in the TON ecosystem. Recently, Telegram solidified TON’s position as its exclusive crypto infrastructure provider, further strengthening the network’s credibility and adoption potential.
With Telegram’s nearly one billion users and seamless Web3 mini-app integrations, TON’s ecosystem—now enhanced by Hamster Network—could become a dominant force in blockchain gaming and decentralized applications.

Despite this news, the Hamster Kombat token did not show much impact. As of this writing, HMSTR is trading for $0.001741, up barely 2% since Tuesday’s session opened.
